Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent wash quality, ease of use, and capacity of this 3.8 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its performance and find it a great value for the price. However, some customers note that the washer can be quite loud and that the spin cycle may be a concern for some users. The presence of an agitator is a positive feature for many buyers.

We did a lot of ratings reviews when we needed a new washer before settling on this Whirlpool model. It is still new, but so far it is working very well. Our clothes are cleaned well. The only reason I have only given 4-stars is that the instructions, particularly those printed inside the lid, are not as descriptive as we would like. It also seems to be a bit hard on towels in the heavy-duty mode; perhaps, as we gain experience with the settings (trial and error) that will improve. Overall, I'd recommend this machine.

Good washing machine. Easy to setup and use. Cleans clothes well and doesn't knot up your clothes. The one drawback is it is very loud and clunky sounding when switching Cycles.

Nice washer plenty of room inside. The washer is easy to use and has water sensor for each load only problem I have with it is it takes forever to wash a load even a small load.

UNFORTUNATELY most washing machines made after 2015 do NOT allow the user to select the WATER LEVEL. This is SO FRUSTRATING. Some clothes NEED MORE WASH WATER than others,ie…Grass stained clothes need more wash water than say delicate lacy bras or ladies lacy panties. The “soil level” selection is NO SUBSTITUTE for “WASH WATER LEVEL” selection.

Purchased this machine for my parents. They are amazed at how large this machine is inside. All I hear about is how much laundry can fit into the grand canyon of machines. It cleans well and doesn't get the front loader smell of mildew. Great machine so far. Loudness seems reasonable for a washing machine.

    Not Sure How to Rate

Not sure how to rate this washer yet; it seems to shake/shimmy a little too much when it is in spin cycle, but I'm not sure if that is normal for this washer. It does clean our clothes beautifully and, once it has gone through the spin cycle, the clothes are rung out nicely.

This is the 2nd replacement washer plus the one I purchased originally in the last year and a half. Seeing that each of them were covered under warranty, the last two I didn't have to pay for. I'm not really enthused with this washer as it just doesn't seem to spin enough or hard enough to get all of the water out. I washed the pillows off of my bed and they came out dripping. I had to hand wring them out (which still wasn't ideal). Not too sure that I would even pick a Whirlpool again....unless this one is still under warranty. But even that was a hassle...took 7 weeks total and many phone calls. They set up servicemen to come out, gave me the dates, etc. ONLY to find out that whoever they contacted wasn't even in my state!! (So of course they didn't show up!!).They take these calls remotely so you could be talking to someone anywhere in or out of the US. Not good business to say the least!

This washing machine with the agitator attached to the tub is great! Strings don't get wrapped around it! Water level settings are kind of confusing but it cleans well.

This is noisier than the old one, but I guess the new ones all are. Great that it saves water and my sewer bills. Has plenty of features for a "basic" machine.

It seems to do a better job of actually cleaning clothes than our previous machine, which was basically the same model except it had an impeller rather than an agitator. The downside to the agitator seems to be that it does not balance heavy loads (flannel sheets/blankets) as well. When it gets ready to do the final spin, I find it best to stay near the machine so if it starts banging around, I can cancel the cycle, rebalance it manually, then run the Drain & Spin cycle.

I like the washer and the multiple settings. It is washing the loads very well, rinsing well. I started out loading it with what I thought was a normal load compared to my old washer but kept piling more clothes into it until it seemed like a full load. So it really handles a lot of clothes. The different options are a little strange with the descriptions in the manual for more or less efficient. They don't all make sense and there could be fewer options with a better range of efficient versus load type or whatever. Great washer for the price.

Used my machine twice and so far so good. It's the first time I own an HE machine so it's taking some time getting used to not using as much detergent. The one thing I don't like is that the door has to be closed for the machine to work. Also, when they came to install it they didn't give me the starter detergent pack that comes with the machine. And one more thing, the machine makes a clicking sound a couple of times during the cycle. IDK if that's supposed to happen. I guess I would recommend it but I need to use it longer to be sure.
