Customers are saying
Customers often highlight the excellent wash quality, ease of use, and capacity of this 3.8 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its performance and find it a great value for the price. However, some customers note that the washer can be quite loud and that the spin cycle may be a concern for some users. The presence of an agitator is a positive feature for many buyers.

Bring back the old designs!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had the flat disc vs. 'hi-rise' agitator maytag (maytag no longer exists, per se, absorbed by whirlpool in the mix of corporate take-overs, just uses their name, so 'Whirlpool&Maytag is the same machine), and when we bought this one, I made sure it had a full-size agitator before I let them take it in the house (the previous flat disc agitator didn't get stains out; also, the biggest problem is they take 1 1/2 hours for a single wash - ridiculous, I can't believe they make them them like that by design! Amazing!! And if yours is clicking and then turns off instead of WASHcycle, it's likely to be a little clock-motor next to the transmission involving cam's and detente that has to be replaced..and looks simple). I gave a quick look, saw the agitator, and gave my consent. Later when I took a closer look, I discovered - to my horror - that it was same flat disc with a 'tower' added on that looked correct at a glance, but..splines to grab and agitate the load were at the top of the shaft only (hindering the view below), and just a sort of smooth spindle lower end to about half-way up. So I don't see how it works efficiently, unless the water level is max; and given the 'rules of engagement' for water efficient designs, lately, I don't think you can even have that high of a water-level,,by design! Still, all in all, it gets the job done, wash results seem good..and price was okay (I even got a 30-dollar geek-squad gift-card for in-store shopping as a perk! I have to love that. My experience is they design them to fail a couple minutes out of warranty. Then you are offered the chance to renew the warranty to get their guys out so they will charge you for the parts (that was with SEARS). Speaking, or writing, rather, from my perspective being a repair-guy for 30+yrs, the old machines worked well, and their designs were not warped in mystery, --that's a wrap! ~c. PS: As an afterthought, of current designs on the market, probably the best wash results are to be had from the front-load machines which offer good, beat-it-against-the-rock scrubbing effect, and also, less stress on the clothes than the top-loader agitator designs; the down-side, again, is complicated electronics systems so when something goes south, you have to have a factory-trained tech sort it for you. Back to the old!

Great machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a good and simple washing machine. Coming from an older unit that had less "bells & whistles" I had 2 concerns, 1) does it really wash well with less water used?? 2) didn't want something that took hours to get thru 1 load of clothes.. Well those concerns are over, this machine washes well and while it does take longer than my old unit, it is a manageable time and have adapted well with it. It has a nice large tub, feels like a huge upgrade over old unit! Time to receive the unit once ordered was great. The folks who delivered it was great.. I am very pleased with my new unit...

Pretty good washer
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good for a basic washer. 3.8 cu ft is pretty big for even the thicker blankets. I really like that you have options on your wash, including a second rinse. I originally had one that wasn’t working properly but Best Buy did a fantastic job replacing it. Overall it’s a very good, cheap option. I would buy this model again.

Great washing machine for price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a basic washing machine. No bells or whistles. Large capacity, efficient, and easy to use. My only criticism is that it's a little loud. Over all a good bang for your buck.

Don't go there....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd replacement washer plus the one I purchased originally in the last year and a half. Seeing that each of them were covered under warranty, the last two I didn't have to pay for. I'm not really enthused with this washer as it just doesn't seem to spin enough or hard enough to get all of the water out. I washed the pillows off of my bed and they came out dripping. I had to hand wring them out (which still wasn't ideal). Not too sure that I would even pick a Whirlpool again....unless this one is still under warranty. But even that was a hassle...took 7 weeks total and many phone calls. They set up servicemen to come out, gave me the dates, etc. ONLY to find out that whoever they contacted wasn't even in my state!! (So of course they didn't show up!!).They take these calls remotely so you could be talking to someone anywhere in or out of the US. Not good business to say the least!

Good low cost washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looked at several low cost washers and this one had the most wash options. It is a little noisy, especially the first empty run to flush out coating. The agitator does not seem overly rough and cleans well.

Nice washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice washer I'm surprised that it's noisy switching between cycles, but it does a decent job. I do wish it had a clock that showed "time left" so that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Good except for wrinkled clothes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a washing machine that is kind of like your old one that filled completely this kind of works. I have had to learn to use only certain cycles to get the amount of water I want for each load. But you kind of get a deep fill for wash and then a deep fill for the rinse with the ability to choose a second rinse which is also a deep one. This is nice. I keep my machine on deep fill wash and deep 2 rinses. But There are only two cycles with low spin and you can’t change the spin speed. The fast speed wrinkles the clothes and you can’t shake the wrinkles out as you can when the spin speed is slower. Machine takes awhile to unlock when you pause but it does not lock until after the wash cycle which is nice. It is a pretty good machine.

Washer
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.UNFORTUNATELY most washing machines made after 2015 do NOT allow the user to select the WATER LEVEL. This is SO FRUSTRATING. Some clothes NEED MORE WASH WATER than others,ie…Grass stained clothes need more wash water than say delicate lacy bras or ladies lacy panties. The “soil level” selection is NO SUBSTITUTE for “WASH WATER LEVEL” selection.

Very good washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good washing machine for the price. Large loads to small loads every thing comes out clean. Easy to use. The only thing I do not like is the done light stays on until the lid is opened up. I put clothes in the night, get up and put in dryer in the morning sometimes. So I do not like that the light is on all night. Other than that totally satisfied.

Solid machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had read reviews that said it was good but noisy and the reviews were right on the money. We chose it because of the size of our laundry room and it does work great; just wish it was less noisy.

Excellent washer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We did a lot of ratings reviews when we needed a new washer before settling on this Whirlpool model. It is still new, but so far it is working very well. Our clothes are cleaned well. The only reason I have only given 4-stars is that the instructions, particularly those printed inside the lid, are not as descriptive as we would like. It also seems to be a bit hard on towels in the heavy-duty mode; perhaps, as we gain experience with the settings (trial and error) that will improve. Overall, I'd recommend this machine.

Good unit and easy to use.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good washing machine. Easy to setup and use. Cleans clothes well and doesn't knot up your clothes. The one drawback is it is very loud and clunky sounding when switching Cycles.

Big inside
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this machine for my parents. They are amazed at how large this machine is inside. All I hear about is how much laundry can fit into the grand canyon of machines. It cleans well and doesn't get the front loader smell of mildew. Great machine so far. Loudness seems reasonable for a washing machine.
