Take control of laundry day chores with this 27-inch Whirlpool top load washer. Its 3.8 cu. ft. capacity provides enough space for bulky items, and the two way wash action agitator handles tough, heavily soiled loads. The Auto Sensing feature of this Whirlpool top load washer automatically adjusts water levels based on load size to save energy.
A: I do not believe so as it has a full size agitator. It does use HE detergent. I will say my previous machine was HE and it was awful. It left a white residue, assuming lint based, on clothing. Reduced detergent, washed smaller loads (as directed for this issue) to no avail. Ended up either re-washing or running another rinse cycle and most times didn't resolve issue so wasn't very efficient. My new Whirlpool is great. Has auto sensing fill and deep water wash for quilts, sheets and bulky items. My clothes need only one wash/rinse as there is no residue.
A: If it's less than a month old, call whirlpool ASAP, because even if you have geeksquad, whirlpool insists on handling all maintenance/repairs in the first year.
Q: Does this machine have a place to add detergent? Or does it have to be hand poured?
A: The detergent has to be hand poured. Only the bleach and fabric softer has a place to add.
A: The height, with the door open 90 degrees, is 52 inches.
Q: Can you auto or manual fill this washer?
A: Its pretty much in charge ....the only choice your have is Auto Sensing & Deep Water Wash /Rinse. Deep water will use more, but its not like the water level you're probably used to with the classic machines. If you do add water with a bucket or something, only do this for the "Wash" cycle & keep the level about 1" below the top row of holes on the basket.... anything more & she'll stop & pump out a good 3" to the water level. If your try to mess with the level at the rinse cycle, it gets pretty confused & will start to calibrate its self by adding & then dumping water trying to figure out why the numbers are off. Forget everything you know about how washers operate these machines are different in every way.
A: The exact measurement is 26 1/2"deep. This will be a very tight fit.
Q: Once the wash cycle begins can it be opened to add an item or is the lid locked
A: Just hit the start (pause) button and it will unlock and you can start it back up again without restarting your load of laundry.
A: I have always cleaned the softener dispenser simply by putting hot water in the dispenser and running a load, repeat if nessessary
