Had to pay to get it programmed but that's ok. Was hearing only one side of police/fire calls, now we hear both sides.

Its a scanner. Can be a little difficult to program. It doesnt always show its scanning.

Good scanner. Up to phase 2 trunking. Be prepared to buy 2 extra computer programs and must have computer to program it. 1 program is free for 6 months and the other one costs $15 for 6 mons. Then must buy both for the rest of the life of the scanr. And no return after 10 days. Must order online. No free support

I purchased this for my father that is retired from the Fire Department. He still likes to know what is going on around town, so he requested a scanner. They don't make too many home models anymore so choices are limited, but this is a very nice unit! I would recommend to any scanner enthusiast.

We chose not to download and purchase any software, and instead set the radio up manually. It took a little research on both the Radio Reference website and the Whistler website, though eventually found all the frequencies and instructions needed, especially for trunking and talk groups. After that it was very easy to understand and set up! Highly recommend!!

I got it for my fiance's father's day gift. But I still haven't been able to get it program right. But I'll get it working.

Complicated programming if you do not use the computer program, which requires a subscription. Not expensive, but not free.

very nice Phase 1 police Scanner, took awhile to figuring out the programming, but once I learned it was great....

I love the scanner. It was a bit hard to figure out to program it, but I'm still learning about it.

Before purchasing this product I was not made aware that I would have to ho to a separate website and sign up just to get the frequencies I would need. Once downloaded into the scanner it works fine.

THought it would be a good fit, but it was too complex to program. Found another manufacturer that provided preprogramming for a small fee.

I paid $50.00 to have it programmed and it works exactly like it is suppose to. My husband loves it!

Trying to program it was very difficult even with subscription to programming. I ended up returning it.

Nice scanner but would be nice to have phase 1 & 2. Nice to use for weather and local emergency info.
