Track bad weather or listen in on police channels with this Whistler digital scanner. Menu-driven programming lets you toggle through sections and learn functions, while the scan list function organizes channels for later return. This Whistler digital scanner can be set to follow weather alerts and accesses NOAA's channel for your family's safety in an emergency.

  • Object oriented user interface: Exclusive to Whistler designs, features common data entry, browsing and control methods are used for every scannable object.
  • Menu driven programming: Each menu item provides a few lines of help text that provide assistance with programming and using the scanner.
  • Scan list: Functionality allows you to arrange, group and scan objects according to your preference.
  • V-Scanner technology: Allows you to save complete radio configurations within the radio, for recall into main memory as needed in the field. Twenty one V-Scanner Folders are provided, each capable of storing over 1,800 objects.
  • Skywarn storm spotter functionality: Instant access to frequencies used by storm spotter networks.
  • Multi-System trunking: Scans most common trunked radio system signaling formats, including Motorola, EDACS, LTR and P25 trunked radio networks.
  • Digital AGC: Instantly compensates for low user audio levels that are common on digital systems.
  • Subaudible squelch decoder: Provides fast and reliable decoding of subaudible squelch signaling with squelch tail elimination.
  • Spectrum Sweeper: Quickly sweeps the scanner’s frequency ranges for transmissions from nearby sources.
  • Bands Received: 29–54 MHz (VHF Lo), 108–136.99166 MHz (Aircraft), 137–174 MHz (VHF Hi),216-225 MHz (VHF, Ham), 225-406 MHz (Gov’t, Military), 406–512 MHz (UHF), 700/800/900 (Public servise), 1240-1300 MHz (Ham).

A: You program it to the frequencies in your area.

Q: Does bestbuy program police scanners

A: Whistler 1065 please scanner

Q: Does geek squad program scaners

A: Called today the store in Erie. After being on hold a ridiculous amount of time with three people, a person came on the line and identified himself as The Geek Squad. No name when I asked - just Geek Squad. Anyway - his answer was that Best Buy doesn't program scanners!

Q: Can you attach a outdoor antenna to this unit ?

A: Yes can attach a external antenna

Q: Will this pick up state police what is the range it will pick up

A: I asked the person I bought the radio for. He says yes it will pick up state police. According to the specs in the owner’s manual the frequency range depends on the band. i.e., VHF low range is 25-54 MHz. VHF high range is 137-174 MHz. UHF low/T band is 300-512 MHz. UHF high is 764-1300. There are preprogrammed service searches for public safety, aircraft & ham.

Q: Does it do phase1 and phase 2 ?

A: no just phase 1
