This would be a great product if it worked properly. I have spent hours on the phone with Withings support. They seem baffled. I will be returning this. This version may have a serious problem.

Disintegrated after 1 month one the day. Broken glass in the worst place of the house to have it, in the bathroom by the tub.

Didnt work, we tried several times but the app couldn't found the scale, reseted it couple times without any luck, we returned it

When I got these scales I honestly didn't know what to expect from them as I never heard of the company who makes them but I was quick to learn about them being someone that has a weight problem along with health issues (type2 diabetes, asthma and Afib). Knowing that I personally need to loose the weight that I have I found out that this set of scales would document things that I actually couldn't remember to do it has so many features and was relatively easy to set up along with the app even though my first time trying them it did show an error which did kind of made me worry but come to find out after doing a reinstall of the scales on the app and leaving them alone until the next morning then using them for the first time it showed no errors. If your like me you will want to get this set of scales and weigh yourself daily to make the best of a healthy choice as I said it does most if not all of the work for you once it sends it to your phone to record it in the app the only thing you have to do manually is your bp if you don't have the wireless BP cuff that the company makes. Which for me might be the next investment that I get to go with this product which for me would be worth while with my Afib. The best thing is after having the scales for a week and weighing 240.7 I have watched my weight go up and then back down and showed my PCP the results after 7 days along with the med that he put me on I now weigh in at 232.2 a great big lose of 8.6 pounds and it might start staying off this time around but only time will tell. Pros for this set of scales are easy set up and recording everything for you and being able to buy other Items from Withings which you can find on they're site. The one and only con was the only error that popped up which was on the last setup when stepping on the scales where it showed an error on body. Other than that one thing they're a get set of scales and well worth getting the and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone

This is a nifty, smart scale that is packed with a lot of features and wellness integration that I found to be very useful. First, I like the design and construction. I found to be very well-made. Color LED screen, sharp and contemporary up to standards to other modern tech. I thought the set up was not very difficult, and from the moment you turn on the scale it walks you through the set up process, including the essential app associated with the device. The app was easy enough to navigate, which required me to put in my baseline measurable‘s, including age and height. One surprising and nice feature was the fitness and wellness integration which links to other apps, including the Apple health app. So it does keep track of your exercise and fitness levels as well. This can make it easier to reach your goals which you can input as well. One downside, is that if you have an accidental body weight reading , the scale doesn’t know it and you have to manually delete it, so it doesn’t mess up the data trends. The app does take a little bit of exploration and playing around with it to fully unlock and appreciate all its features but I don’t think it’s much of a learning curve. I think overall it’s an OK app, and the scale itself works as intended. Just a little buggy but I think it will be worked out. I don’t think you can go wrong with the price for the feature set and What you’re getting. I do recommend it.

The Withings-Body Smart Advanced Body Composition Scale can provide measurements on your weight, the air quality in your area, body mass index, heart rate, and more. Downloading the app was slightly challenging in the beginning. Had to reboot my phone a few times and the app itself had to reboot twice. However, once set up, each time I weigh myself using the floor without carpet, it gives pretty accurate readings. When used on the carpet, remember to use the floor pads they give to get a better accurate reading. The app helps to keep track of weight loss and gain. It also can tell the body muscle composition which is nice. You are also able to connect more than one device and individual to measure their weight as well. These devices can include using android and os devices. Also, the app provides articles and information on staying healthy, body mass index, and much more. Your able to invite friends to work together on goals and there is a leaderboard built into the app to challenge your friends.

The Withings Body Smart scale is the 2nd step in the body lineup, between the base Body and Body Comp models. The scale itself is well constructed and looks like it will last a while. Something I’ve never seen before is the included “carpet” feet. These feet are larger saucer shaped feet that snap on the small rubber “hard floor” feet to add stabilization if you are using the product on a carpeted surface. This is not my first body monitoring scale but it is my first smart scale. Setting up the app was clunky but was successful for the first user. Unfortunately, it took three attempts to get the second user added. You have two options when adding additional users - first you can add them in your app and everyone’s information is contained in the one app. The second is having the users download the app and “attach” their accounts to the scale which is the method we are using since my wife tracks her health as well on her phone and I really don't need to access her info. The app does share and collect data from multiple platforms including Apple Health and presents them all to you at a glance. It also uses this additional data to present you with guidance to achieve your goals as part of the Withings + monthly subscription. I like that you seemingly do not lose any data points if you do not subscribe. The scale is supposed to know each individual user and automatically send that date to the correct account. This was somewhat problematic for the 2nd user. The scale uses the weight to match users and selects users based on +/- 11 pounds. There is significantly more than 11 pounds between my wife and I however, the scale routinely misses her. All is not lost, these non-identified data points are listed in the app and easily attached to a specific user. I did notice when doing this, the unidentified data shows up on both phones/accounts and once added it wasn’t removed from the other users app. Just a bit of house cleaning needed there. The scale is quick to display weight but does take about a minute to roll through the different measurements and show the daily weather. You can select which screens you want to see at each weighing though. The display is bright and easy to read, another plus. Having multiple health issues, I really like seeing the composition measurements - especially the visceral fat, which is the fat surrounding our organs. I give the Withings Body Smart scale four stars, taking away one star for the difficulty with the app. I imagine future updates can/will fix these issues. Otherwise, I would recommend the Body Smart scale to anyone looking for a reasonably priced health monitoring option.

I want to thank the BestBuy Tech Insider's network for giving me this incredible scale to review. I have had a standard scale for many years and I've been kind of scared to step on it and see my weight. I've always been heavy, not obese but way more than I would like to be. A few years ago, I bought a Bluetooth scale which I thought would send my weight to my phone automatically but found out that I had to have the phone next to me with the app running in order to transfer the data to the phone. That was a problem because I sleep upstairs and wanted to weigh myself when I get up. I need to charge my phone downstairs next to the door so I don't run out and forget to take it with me. So that scale was promptly returned. This scale solves that problem. Since it uses WiFi (as well as Bluetooth) after I weigh myself, get dressed and go downstairs, the information is already on my phone. The scale, in addition to having a very modern look to it has a beautiful full color screen just as bright as a phone screen. When you step on, it greets you by name (since you set that in the app) and then shows you your weight, body composition, heart rate, the local weather and the air quality. The app ties into the Apple Health app and probably has a similar solution for Android users (I don't follow Android). If you have your phone on you when you're out walking, it will add your steps to the app, it will show you your weight trend. There is an athlete mode if you work out more than 8 hours a week (which I certainly don't do). You can set the app to show you your weight only if you want and there is an eyes-closed mode if you don't want to see your weight at the time and focus on your weight trends instead of the numbers. You can even share your stats with others right through the app. The app also lets you manually log your activities, blood pressure, temperature, heart rate and more. It does get scary to see my weight go up after I ate at a Bar-B-Q yesterday, but it will be nice to see my graph go downward after a few days of regular meals. It does encourage me to do more walking and to be more aware of my intake. I'm really glad I got this scale as it will help me take better care of myself than I have been doing recently.

On the box of this scale, Withings claims to have brought the first connected scale to market. While I can’t verify that, what I CAN say without doubt is that this is an excellent scale made all the better with the connected features. Unboxing and setup is very easy - you just unwrap the scale and download the Withings app. It is quick to create an account and then link the scale (batteries are already installed in the scale so you just have to pull a tab out of it to turn it on). Once the scale is connected to your wifi and updated (a simple process run through the app), it’s ready to use. Stepping on the scale barefoot not only records your weight but also a variety of other metrics including body fat %, lean mass, muscle mass and so on. Helpfully, you also get (if you set your location) local weather and air quality - a useful thing if (like me) you tend to weigh yourself when you get up in the morning. In a nice touch, the scale also recognized when it was my birthday (set in the app) and wished me a happy birthday. All the body metrics (inc pulse) are logged to the app and can be linked to other services if you wish (I tested the link with Google fit and it worked just fine). Using the app, you can set up goals for yourself, multiple accounts, allow for guests to use the scale without an account and so on. The scale is actually very nicely designed as well and I think adds to our bathroom (where it lives). It does have “carpet feet” that you can attach if you’ll be using it on carpet, though I always find hard floors better for scales and so have not tested use on a carpet. So if you want to keep better track of not just your weight but also other body composition statistics, this is a great way to jump into that. Give it a try and you won’t be sorry!

We own the Withings Body+ Scale, a previous version of this Body Smart Scale, and love it. They look nearly identical, yet with subtle (upgrade) differences. Setup was familiar and easy, via the app (since I already had an account on my mobile phone). Of course, there's an app. But it really is useful. Being able to see all your 'stats' at a glance is nice. Set goals for yourself, and create personal profiles for each user. You can even connect the Withings scale to other health/workout apps. There are some helpful, healthful "extras" to be found within the app. Browse and join in offered health programs, and track your progress. There's also the option to share a PDF Health Report with your healthcare professional. So, what's different from our previous Withings scale? Well, there are colorized graphics on the High-Def LCD screen. Which is rather cheerful. Withings added 'Standing Heart Rate' 'Visceral Fat' 'Local Weather Report and Air Quality Analysis,' along with, the increased "max weight" capacity of 440 lbs.; which are all welcome upgrades. Tip: It is always a good idea to try and weigh yourself at the same time of day for consistency. Perhaps as part of your morning daily routine. This Withings Body Smart Scale is beautiful to look at. It's 'stylish' and modern in design. This bathroom scale is quite simply, pleasing. And, I am confident, the information it provides is as accurate as can be, for a device of this type. Recommend.

I absolutely love this scale! The body analysis syncs to the app quickly, the scale is easy to set up, accurate, and has everything I need to keep me on track.

Chose this as a first plunge into connected health tracking. Seems to work pretty well and syncs all the data to the Withings app, which is nice because you don't have to remember to manually record it later. Setup was pretty simple; give it your WiFi information, let it update, and off to the races you go. Can't really vouch for the accuracy of the more advanced features (body composition, etc.) since I don't have any authoritative baseline for that. Display is nice and clear and easily readable. Device itself is pretty stylish in my opinion and makes weighing in as pleasurable as that can be. Price seems fair for what you're getting.

Good scale. Lots of trouble setting it up. Had to call customer service for their help. Very glitchy, but they helped us figure it out and it’s been working ever since. Love that it tells you when you’re losing or gaining muscle mass and whether you are dehydrated or not. Only had it for about a month, but would recommend.

This is a solid quality smart scale for a decent price. The companion phone app can very much help with long term tracking and progress towards goals. I have been on a weight loss journey myself for the last 2 years. Over that time frame I have lost 130+ pounds. I very much wish I had owned this scale for that entire time frame to have been able to visualize that weight loss and progress. I am the only user of the scale, but it seems to have a pretty cool feature of setting up user profiles and detecting who steps on it. One of my favorite things is the morning recap as I always weigh in first thing in the morning. You step on the scale, it shows your weight, BMI, progress on a graph, the daily weather, and even the air quality. Very nice and handy way to get the day started. The hardware itself is very nice and sturdy. The only negative thing I have to say is the BMI portion and I don't think this is against this particular scale itself. As a part of my weight loss I have done several body scans at my gym. My most recent scan put me at around 18% body fat but the BMI on the scale puts me at around 30. This is just how it works and should be expected if you are in a similar situation. Keep that in mind, and remember that progress is progress even if that number seems high! As long as it keeps getting lower, you're winning the race.

Excellent digital scale with the features my wife desired, We have both added the app to our phones, recording each weigh in session for a digital history log.

The app makes the entire experience difficult. The scale seems solid and provides concise information. The app is way to complex and over engineered. It's tough to find any relevant information. It appears they are more about collecting info than providing it.

it works, but u can def find something cheaper that will do the same thing

This scale is very helpful for a weight-competitive athlete. I love to see how I can also check my muscle percentage, fat percentage, and water percentage. It makes communicating my stats with my coach so helpful.
