Great budget security option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re looking for a simple, easy to install camera with no monthly fees this might be just what you are looking for! Wyze has been the leader for years in the budget security camera market. They have pretty much been #1 and with good reason. They offer quality products, with no required monthly fee (although there is a paid subscription if you choose to use it) Out of the box, it is what you expect from Wyze. Pretty much all plastic construction. But it’s a thick plastic and doesn’t feel very cheap. Installing the camera was about as easy as it can be. You can literally just set it on a table if you want and not mount it anywhere. But you can also use double sided tape to mount as well as permanently screwing it up somewhere. There are really lots of options for mounting this camera. Note that this camera doesn’t have a battery and will need to be plugged in. Although Wyze does offer a variety of different cameras, some with batteries. Getting it hooked up to the app was very easy. You go into the app, select add a new device, enter the type of device, it searches for the device, you enter your wifi network and that’s it. It sets it all up for you. Then you are pretty much good to go! You will be able to see live video through the camera and also hear the audio. There are tons of customization settings in the app so you can get the camera working exactly the way you want it to. You can set up different zones so you only get notifications from a certain area of your property. You can customize the actual notifications. When viewing live video, you can turn on or off the audio well as use the 2-way audio feature so you can talk to and hear whoever is at your camera With the basic Wyze Cam Plus Lite service you get 12-second Event recordings and Wyze Person Detection at whatever price you choose, including $0. Cam Plus Lite gives you Wyze Person Detection and 12-second Event videos as often as every 5 minutes, saved in the cloud for 14 days. It will allow you to receive and filter motion Event videos with people in them to make sure the notifications you get are meaningful. You can also choose the regular Cam Plus subscription which will cost $1.25 a month. Which is still pretty cheap compared to the other main players in the market. Another cool thing about these cameras is they each have a MicroSD card slot so you can add your own storage to give you even more room to store videos! The video quality I find to be acceptable. Listen, these are budget cameras and not high end 4K cameras. The video quality is good, and useable. You will get a very clear picture in the daytime and easily be able to pick out faces. The nighttime video is good. If you have these indoors you will easily be able to see your surroundings and should be able to pick out faces. Outdoors is not as good simply because the IR LEDs Don’t have walls to bounce off of. So, unless you are within about 10 feet of the camera you might have a problem seeing a face. But you will still get a notification that someone is on your property even if you can't exactly make out who or what it is. I found the app to work pretty well, there were a few little bugs and hiccups here and there, but Wyze is constantly taking user feedback and updating the app and adding new features or improving existing features. These will also work great with google Home or Alexa to show your camera feeds on your smart display. It takes a few seconds to pop up the video, but I found it works pretty well. Overall, if you want to get some security cameras around your house but don’t want to spend a fortune or have a monthly fee, you won't go wrong with Wyze!

Best Wi-Fi Cam on the Market!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So first I would like to start my review by saying I have been using Wyze cameras since the beginning, so that should set the stage of working knowledge and experience. For the money, in my honest opinion, there is nothing that comes close to the Wyze Cam V3! Right out of the box the camera is beautifully packaged and comes with everything you need to set it up and mount it. The setup is super easy, you plug it in, download the app and wait for the camera to say ready to connect. Once you hear that voice prompt it will guide you through the setup process in the app and it’s as easy as scanning a QR code with the camera itself, entering your Wi-Fi information and adding to your account. Setup has taken me under 2 minutes once the app is on your device. The Good: The camera video quality is very nice. 1080p and looks the way you would expect from a camera that costs much more. The Cam V3 also has the option to install an SD card which will allow up to 4 days of constant onboard Recording that you can access at anytime through the app. This means of you choose not to sign up for the cloud service, you still have a DVR for each camera that you have an SD card installed. This is the option that originally attracted me to the brand. I was looking for something that I could go back in time and review footage and it all comes in this little camera. Simply awesome of you ask me. The camera also has color night vision which works well. I don’t know how they do it but the video quality is almost like there’s some daylight outside even when it’s pitch black. Now if you don’t want to use the color night vision, the camera also has the option of IR lights which will give a black and white picture but super clear and is best used indoors. There’s also zone detection that you can setup for alerts and you can setup if the camera hears a smoke alarm or CO alarm to notify you. There are many options and features this camera has and I think if you get it, you will be very glad you did and the 2 pack is really nice because once you setup one you’ll be looking to setup more. Also the type of SD card I recommend to use for the onboard storage should you choose to use that feature is the Wyze 32GB. It’s fairly inexpensive and just ensures the rear write speeds are exactly what the camera needs and will give you a good end result. The mounting of the camera is another strength. It comes with a metal disc that you can attach a double sided tape to (included) and the camera has a magnetic base that will snap onto that disc so you can literally mount this camera anywhere you want and very easily. The Not So Good: Honestly I cannot find anything that is not good for the price point. One thing I would like to see is the Cam Plus subscription for their AI alerts and unlimited cloud recording, to be priced better. Especially to offer an all in one plan that is fair and let’s you included every camera you have to be able to have their cloud service. ( again this is all optional ) Final Thoughts: It really is a great camera. I’ve become a loyal customer to the brand because I see the value in what you get and the quality is top notch. If you in the beginning of your Wi-Fi camera journey, give this camera a go, you will be happy

Double Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today we are going to review the Wyze Cam v3 - more specifically, the 2-pack. Before receiving this set of cameras, we were already owners of a Wyze Cam v2. Its purpose was as a replacement for a malfunctioning baby monitor. We no longer needed the instantaneous alerts of a proper monitor and the expense for a replacement was unwelcomed. The Wyze was a perfect substitute at a fraction of the price. It allowed us to check in on our toddler in the middle of the night or keep an eye on her while she plays. I could even look in on her and say goodnight on those evenings I had to work late, all from my phone. There are even movement and noise alerts with adjustable sensitivities. Now that our daughter is a little older and can play alone without as much direct supervision in the family room, we decided it would be nice to keep an eye on her while still allowing her some independence. With 2 additional cameras mounted in opposite corners of the room, we could see everything she gets into. That's where this 2-pack of cameras come in. We love the v2 camera so much that we were just going to get 2 more of those, but then this 2-pack of the v3 camera came along and wooed us with its "color night vision." We haven't noticed a big difference with the newer version. The angle is a few degrees wider - allowing more to be seen - and the picture is a little clearer. There is also the addition of being weather resistant, for outdoor use. I believe the outdoor attribute is where the "color night vision" may work best. The nomenclature isn't exactly accurate. It should be called "color low-light vision" because you actually have to disable night vision to activate the feature. Unfortunately, we've had little success with this while using as a nursery monitor. The image is dark, grainy and tinted red due to our daughter's red nightlight. Regular black & white night vision provides a much better image. We do not have any electrical outlets outdoors to test, but I imagine the ambient light from streetlights and even the moon might offer enough illumination get a color image. We like: - quality of image - quality of night vision image - value (one is inexpensive on its own, but the 2-pack is a bargain) - weather-resistance - the option of using subscription-based storage or a micro-SD card, locally Room for improvement: - color night vision - if using for security purposes, our experience suggests you will not get a clear image of the bad guy with this feature activated - you must have Wi-Fi (not sure if they will continue to record to microSD when Wi-Fi goes out) - only one camera can be viewed on your phone at a time. it would be great to be able to view 2 or more at once (this is nitpicking - switching camera views is a very quick process)

Excellent Indoor/Outdoor Affordable WiFi Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a long time proponent of Wyze cameras. I helped my dad purchase and install about 8 Wyze Cam v1, just a week before they introduced the Wyze Cam v2. I then purchased a dozen Wyze Cam v2 when they were on clearance at a local store and installed them around my house. The Wyze Cam v1 and v2 cameras were unfortunately only indoor rated. I did, however, find housings to make them work outdoors. One feature that I was able to employ with the v1 and v2 series, in certain locations, was the ability to daisy chain them. For those cameras, you have a micro-USB port and a USB-A port on the back. The power comes in via the micro-USB port and then you can output the power via USB-A to the micro-USB port of a second camera. The Wyze Cam v3 now sports an IP-65 rating which enables them for indoor and outdoor use. Out of the box, I noticed just a single micro-USB port on a short cable coming from the back of the camera. That micro-USB port accepts the standard 5V 1A power source, but it no longer allows you to daisy chain cameras. Nor does it allow some of the older accessories like the Wyze Sense. The micro-USB port also sports a silicone sleeve to help make sure the connection is water tight. The memory card slot and the setup button are now protected by silicone. I use a 32 GB sized microSD card for each of my cameras. This gives me plenty of recording space without having to worry about paying an extra service. The only downside from not purchasing a service is that there is a 5 minute "cool down" period after each triggered recording. Strangely, if you purchase the CamPlus service from Wyze, there is no "cool down" period. During setup of the Wyze Cam v3, the female voice has been replaced by a male voice. I also noticed that the setup goes quicker than my previous generation cameras. Scanning in the QR code goes faster without having to fiddle with distance or angle. I think is due to the better processing power and faster framerate. While the resolution has not been improved from v2 to v3, the framerate has increased by 5 frames per second. In my opinion, I think the colors are a little more vivid and accurate. I was looking to replace two of my outdoor cameras and this 2-pack of v3 cameras at Best Buy fit my needs and comes in just slightly cheaper than purchasing directly from Wyze. In my experience, purchasing from Wyze takes over a week to ship and Best Buy either has it in store or can often get the product to you in far less time.

Inexpensive and easy to setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.## What’s free and what requires a monthly fee Wyze seems to change their free features often, so this information may soon become outdated, but from what I understand, here is currently what you get free (as of September 2022). What’s included free: - A snapshot image sent as a push notification to your phone, any time motion occurs - A 5-minute “cool-down” period before you receive a notification of the next motion event - Same with sound detection - On-device Smoke and CO alarm sound detection with push notification - Viewing motion clips from a microSD card (not included) What requires the cheaper monthly plan (Cam Plus Lite, name-your-price for now): - 12-second video clips stored in the cloud (this was previously free, but is no longer) - Person detection What requires the more expensive monthly plan (Cam Plus, about $2/month per camera): - Unlimited video length - No “cool-down” period - Package detection - Vehicle detection - Pet detection - Web viewer ## Design The Wyze Cam v3 maintains its simple “box” design of the earlier versions. It has a magnetic, extendable base that makes it easy to mount to something like your refrigerator or a metal pole and point it at your target area. The Wyze Cam is powered by a Micro USB cable and a 5V 1A power supply (included). ## Performance The low light performance of the Wyze Cam v3 is very impressive! If there is enough ambient light (like from street lights), it can give you “color night vision”. However, if the area is pitch black (like a basement at night), then you can use the infrared night vision which is in black and white, but extends far enough for a medium to large-sized room. One of my favorite features of the Wyze Cam is that you can insert a microSD card (not included) and continuously record, kind of like your own closed-circuit security DVR system. Unfortunately, using the app to navigate through the timeline is a little cumbersome and slow and it takes some time to find the spot you’re looking for. And the one caveat is that if someone steals the camera, they have your microSD card with all the footage as well. The camera also has a small built-in siren that you can sound whenever you see something suspicious going on. It’s not ear-piercing, but should be enough to let someone nearby know that someone is watching them. ## Longevity I actually had the very first generation of the Wyze Cam and found that it did its job very well and it was cool to watch the company grow, but at the same time, I felt like every few months there was some new kind of “drama” associated with this inexpensive security camera with features being discontinued and urgent firmware updates needing to be installed. I can’t really be too upset with the company because the hardware is inexpensive and I believe the company generally has good intentions and they, of course, need to sustain their business model. Just be aware that you may need to read some long emails to try and figure out how to keep your camera and its features working and that the cameras may eventually “expire” after a few years and no longer receive security updates. This is true for any piece of technology that connects to the internet and is not specific to Wyze Cam. ## Summary If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to check-in on your home when you’re away, the Wyze Cam is easy to set up, and they’re cheap enough to buy in multiples. You may also want to invest in a microSD card for each camera if you would prefer to use local storage and/or don’t want to pay for monthly cloud storage.

A really nice, low cost camera system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Wyze Cam v3 is a nice, easy to use, inexpensive camera system, and the two pack is an excellent value. Setup is simple. Create a Wyze account, download the Wyze camera app, and you’re on your way. The app will give you guidance on how to connect the camera to your WiFi network. At each step, the camera speaks to let you know what it’s doing. It was about as easy as you could ask for, with none of the glitches, inscrutable blinking lights, or resets that I’ve encountered during setup with other camera apps. The design of the Cam v3 is unique, with a cube shape and flexible mounting options. The base comes with extendable legs and the entire camera portion swivels, making positioning simple. The base can be set on a shelf, mounted with a single screw or, if you don't need the security of a mounting screw, magnetically to a metal surface. If the surface you want to attach to is non-metallic, each camera comes with a stick-on metal disc. The v3 has an IP65 rating for weather resistance, so you should be good in most environments. One thing to note on mounting – while the camera connects to WiFi, it is not battery powered and so requires a power source to operate. The included USB cable is water-shielded at the connection point. Once installed, the images are very clear. Both daylight and night-vision color are crisp and make it easy to pick out details. Anyone who has tried to use black-and-white nighttime images will really appreciate the clarity of Wyze’s color night vision system. Using the app is reasonably painless, although it does occasionally have trouble finding the camera and requires some time to connect. The app allows you to have a two-way conversation with the person at the other end, but there is a definite lag in the system, particularly when the camera is used remotely (on a different network than your mobile device). Motion and sound detection work well, and events can be stored on an SD card (not included) for later viewing. If you want recognition of when a person is present, cloud-based event recording with longer segments, or the ability to use the camera through a browser, you’ll have to pony up for a subscription plan. If your environment does not require a battery-mounted camera, this is a great option.

Great price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very high-quality camera for just $35 (or $70 for a pair). The only real negative for me is that it doesn't have a battery and must be plugged into power. Depending on your situation, this can really limit where you deploy these cameras. In my case, I have a couple of outdoor cat enclosures that are attached to the house. The cats come and go through pet doors that I've put in the windows. Fortunately, I have power outlets just inside each window so I'm able to plug in and run the cable out (it's about 6' long) to the camera. This works really well and almost couldn't have been easier to install. If you have outdoor outlets with weatherproof covers designed to protect anything plugged into them, then that could be another option. It may be possible to get a longer USB cable to power them as well. At any rate, you'll have to think about power for wherever you want to install these cameras. For my use, I just want to be able to view these cameras to check on the cats. I don't need or want motion detection and recording, so then I also don't need the Cam+ subscription. However, for less than $10 I can get an SD card to put in the camera and then have it record continuously. I plan to go ahead with that just in case something ever happens and I want to go back and see what was going on. Continuous recording is definitely an advantage of having the camera plugged into power vs. one with a battery. The color night vision also works really well in dim light. If it's absolutely pitch black outside then it won't show color, but there's usually enough ambient light around for the color vision to work. This is an extra important feature when you're monitoring pets. It seems like my cats look the same under infrared light, but with color I can tell who's who. I've used other Wyze cameras for several years now and I've been super impressed with them for the price. If you want to get some eyes around your place without it costing an arm and a leg, then Wyze is the way to go.

Amazing cameras
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These were initially acquired to replace a v2 Pan camera that finally went out on me. I thought I would miss out with the pan feature, but the field of view is so good, it's not needed. Installing the camera was simpler than ever. I applaud Wyze for that. So many past security cameras I have used required their own proprietary app, and would be a pain to keep connected with both the camera and any home network/voice control system already installed. Yes, you do need the Wyze app, but it integrates seamlessly with your existing smart network and the app is actually useful. Back to install. Being that I already had the app installed, I just cut on the camera, followed the voice prompts and in 2 minutes the camera was connected. Couldn't be simpler. Picture is cleaner than my existing cameras, and the tracking is better as well. Everyhting about this camera is a plus. You can install an sd card for onboard recording, and the ease of access to the online recordings is much appreciated. Being that Wyze offers short clips free of charge, should you somehow lose visibility, you'll still have some footage to resort to without feeling as though your privacy is in jeopardy. Finally, the night vision lives up to the hype. With my Pan, the automatic switching between standard and night vision is good, but the picture can be hard to make out details. Here, the night vision is leaps and bounds above many of the past cameras I have used. I fell like I can get useable footage with no issue should it be needed. I've been in the Wyze eco system for some time, and I am pleased with their progress. I will continue working with them and I love this camera. I would recommend building out your security system with Wyze at it's core.

You'd Be 'Wyze' to Get These
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had several Indoor/Outdoor cameras over the years. Some were good and others were regrettable. However, the Wyze Cam v3 is truly amazing and delivers performance. Easy Set-up: Open up the minimal packaging, download the Wyze app and you are pretty much good to go! There’s no overthinking or complex setup with the app. In fact, the app is one of the most user-friendly interfaces that I have experienced. Performance: I have a Catio (an enclosed, outdoor area for my cats), and I like to keep tabs on what they are doing. The Wyze camera delivers a sharp and rich picture through the app. The night vision with color is incredible. It’s not that weird visual bleed-out that you sometimes get with other cameras that claim to have color night vision. You can also opt for the standard night vision if you should desire. Either way, both night visions deliver amazing clarity. The motion and sound notifications are responsive. The other night, the camera picked up a random cat that was lost in the neighborhood. Design: The look of these Wyze cameras is simple and streamlined. They are not bulky and do not require you to create room to make them fit where you want them. The camera mounts are easily positional and can be rotated in any direction. I think you’ll find that these cameras will be unnoticed by most. Less is more as they say. Interface, Memory, and Outdoor Use: As I mentioned before, the app interface is smooth and easy. You don’t have to be a tech geek to manage your way around. Accessing the recorded footage is simple and allows you to save whatever footage you may want. However, to save footage, you will need to purchase a separate SD card for EACH camera. Or you can opt for a yearly cloud subscription service without the need for an SD card(s). The cloud subscription is PER CAMERA. I also have to state that to use the camera(s) for direct outdoor use, you will need to purchase the outdoor plug adapter so it can be exposed to the wet weather elements. An Extra Set of Eyes: Whether you are worried about your Halloween or Christmas decorations being vandalized or want to keep tabs on what your dog is doing when you’re away, having these Wyze cameras will surely lessen the worry or they can provide a laugh as you watch what your cat or dogs are getting up to when they think no one is watching. Affordable cameras that you won’t regret.

Really good for what they are
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First - I gave these 4 star as a stand alone product not as part of any home based eco system - if that is what your looking for then you might want to look somewhere else. I'll explain more later. I'll start with setup - it was very simple and straight forward using any mobile device - used apple device to set everything up - the setup was much easier than a few others I have used. The ques and display info was very straight forward. What I like - video quality both on local WiFi and across the internet is very good however you'll need the bandwidth at home to do that - I would recommend that you check the spec to to if your meets at least the min. The overall capabilities and feature are on par with any cameras in it's class. Audio both listening and speak were surprisingly good. Size and mounting option would allow for your to use them in about any location The things I don't like (and there aren't many) - the app is a bit cumbersome lots of feature however navigating them can be trying. It does ping you a few times to sign up for there service which is reasonably priced for what it is, please note that the camera don't require a service for basic functionality. Now for the deal breaker for some - if your tied to a ecosystem for you house as I am with google it ability to integrate is a bit misleading - I can add them and watch with any video playback device on the same network however you can only use their app if you on another network. Basically if I'm away from home, I would have to use two different apps to see all of the conned cameras, this can me a bit of a downside if you all about easy of use. Other than that these are great little cameras

Nice features, expensive cloud storage
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wyze wasn't a brand that i was terribly familiar with before I got this setup. I ordered it to replace some cameras from another vendor that were no longer reliable. The price for the set definitely drew my attention as well as the feature set that is offered. These are very easy to setup using the app and I was operational in a matter of minutes. I already had another device installed so perhaps that was part of the reason setup went so quickly, but I don't recall the setup for the other camera being all that difficult either. I hooked these up to watch the front and back doors of my house, so they have been indoors since I installed them. They record very well and the picture quality is much better than I thought they would be. The night vision records well and the motion sensor is very sensitive, so I would suggest adjusting the settings based on where you have these setup. The only downside I can really say about this system is the cost for cloud storage. If you only have a couple of devices, then the cost is not that bad, but I plan to replace all of the cameras that I currently have, which is in the neighborhood of 10+ devices. At $20/per year per device, that is over $200 annually. I would think they would a package a deal that would bring the cost down some, but I didnt see any options. With that being said, the devices themselves are great and I would definitely recommend them.

Amazing quality, quick setup, indoor-only
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the naming, I wouldn't trust this camera outdoors. For starters, it requires a power supply to be connected to it at all times. Secondly, the connection to the actual camera is merely a silicon-sleeved coupler on a micro USB receptacle. There is no internal battery, so even a solar-powered application would be lacking operability at night. Aside from this, as an *indoor* camera it's amazing. The quality of image is impeccable and the night vision does not disappoint. Setup was one of the easiest experiences I've had among IoT devices - Wyze has clearly done their research here; it took less than a minute from power-up to connected to my wifi. It's easy to share the camera with other users in your household, and just as easy to configure rules for when the camera records/notifies and when it doesn't. I tried the geofencing capability and it also worked without a hitch. The only confusing piece to me is their weaving in of "mute" and "notify on/off" - I'm not quite sure what's going to work best/give me the functionality I'm after but I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough.

Affordability and great features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's never been easier, or more affordable, to keep you and your loved ones protected. With an increase in crime in my area, I needed something to keep our home, and ourselves, safe. The Wyze Cam v3 cameras allow me to keep an eye around my home without having to go outside. No more having to run a huge amount of wires through my attic. These little cameras make it quick and easy to set everything up. The hardest part is mounting them to your home. But, it is definitely something that anyone with average experience can accomplish. Once you have them mounted wherever you want them, download the app, follow a few simple steps, and you will be up and running in no-time. I setup alerts to get notification whenever someone comes into my designated area. You also have the ability to talk through the camera, so it is easy to scare someone away. As for the video quality, there is definitely more to be desired, as it is only 1080p. But, for the price, you really get your moneys worth. They work well for my needs. I would highly recommend the Wyze Cam v3 to anyone.

Great, cheap, high-quality cameras!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received this 2-pack of Wyze v3 cameras a few days ago. Very happy with them so far! I already had a v2 camera that is similar in form as well as two of their rotating Pan Cams as well, so setup and adding these to my Wyze account via iPhone app was a piece of cake. Included with each camera were some mounting discs and hardware as well in case you plan to secure it to a wall. The power cord is good that a portion is integral to the back of the camera and then the long cord plugs into it which also has a little rubber boot to protect it from the elements. Image quality is very good. Recordings in the low light and dark were also good. I like the color night vision, but am also a fan of the traditional regular black and white night vision as well. Glad that I have added these to my Wyze ecosystem!
