Great TV, But mine has a small problem
Posted .I got this TV about 2 weeks ago.. Best buy delivered it and set it up on my TV stand for me.. Great service.. Even called me a day before to confirm delivery time.. The Picture looks great. Some tv shows seem to just pop off of the screen.. The colors are vivid.. Even Makes standard Def programs seem a little sharper than other HDTV's.. The only real problem Ive has it that my TV has problems with the picture going off of the tv, past the TOC, and still being viewable on the clear plastic at the top and bottom of the TV.. I've searched for reviews on other sites to see if other people are having this problem and since the TV is so new, I'm guessing that not many people have had a chance to buy it cause there really aint many reviews for it, but I did see 2 reviews where the people were having the same problem as me... They call it the "halo effect" I'm supposed to have an authorized Samsung repair place come out to inspect the TV tomorrow to see what the problem is.. Other than that small problem I really cant say enough good things about this TV.. Was gonna go with a Sony Bravia but I'm happy that I did end up going with this TV..

Amazing TV, Helpful tip: How not to scratch it.
Posted .My 3.5yo DLP 720p TV broke and I had been given credit($$$) by Best Buy to buy a similar TV or an upgrade, so after some research, I went and bought this TV. This TV is Amazing, the picture quality is incredibly sharp and clear (when picking your TV don't forget to see how big is contrast ratio, it makes a big picture quality difference in HDTV's). TV's speakers have great sound; however, when connecting surround system I had to lower or turn off the TV speakers because it distorted the sound. (you get this weird echo, it's hard to describe it). When I read reviews before buying this TV, people wrote that the body scratched too easy, even when using the cleaning/wipe cloth that came with the TV, and I think I found the solution to this problem. ***SOLUTION: use the "SWIFFER DUSTER". WOW! It does wonders, picks every dust particle there is on the TV without hardly touching the surface. I've had the TV for 3 months...not one scratch on it.

REMARKABLE!
Posted .I am in love with this TV. There is not much more I can say that is great about this TV that the others haven't said. The graphics are incredible! Great for gamming, if not the best one out there. I had researched, asked opinions, and read many reviews before making my decision. It ended up being between this one or the Sony Bravia 52W-4100. People swore up and down over both of them. I actually had the oppertunity to take them both home (one at at time). I had the Sony hooked up for about 10 minutes. That's all I could stand. The picture was fuzzy and gamming graphics where no where near the quality that a TV in that range should display. I took it back to get the Samsung and instantly, out of the box, it was gerogous! The graphics where so crisp and clear. I am not sure I have seen any other display as cleaner than this one. Honestly, and I know this is my opinion, But the Sony is no where close to being as nice of a HDTV as this one. I am not sure what all there hype is all about. The glossy screen has not been an issue yet. We have a fair amount of light into the room, however I usually watch tv in the afternoon or at night. The picture is great to look at no matter where you are sitting. I haven't had the chance to get the upgrade to high -def cable yet so I am still on basic. And I have to say, it still looks fantastic. The sony was fuzzy (to be expected) but you couldn'teven watch it it was so fuzzy. But the Samsung looks so good, that it is easy even to watch basic cable on it. I can't believe it! And that is with the automotion 120HZ turned off. This picture is unreal. The sound is not bad either. You can't expect too much from that much space in a TV but I was supprised, I was pleased from the sound. But sound is not that big of a deal since I use a stereo for my surround sound. I love the back-lit remote controle. A nice feature that can be turned on or off. The tv its self is beautiful. It has a very clean and sharp look to it. The red around the edge is cool in my opinion. It is just an accent and not overwhelming. It just looks good sitting there. However, and yes there is a however, this TV is VERY sharp. With the Automotion 120HZ turn on HIGH, it is almost too much. The picture almost looks fake. Like a bad soap opera. I have heard and seen it for myself, it appears that the proccessor is a bit different than other TVs and is set a bit higher, so setting it on a low level looks best while others will be set to a standard to high level. Setting the automtion to high while playing video games is freaking awesome. It gives you such a 3-D look you feel like you are there. This doesn't work well with games that are not set up for 1080p though. The TV has to over compinsate and it creates a little lag in game play. Not to worry though, it has a great game setting (which the automotion is turned off) that makes the game play perfect. And graphics are still better than other TVs! Make the purchase, you won't regrete it. You can wait for the deals or take advantage of their price match! How ever, it is so worth the money, compaired to what else is out there, this is it! Enjoy!

don't be misled, this is a GREAT TV... (read on)
Posted .(Model number added) I bought the LN52A750R1F for my wife's birthday--not the red Touch of Color, but the shiny all black one with Black ToC. The picture is AWESOME. This TV is off the hook. Outrageous... We have DirecTV in SD transmission because much of what we watch is still in SD transmission. The SD programs from Russian Channel 1 are a bit grainy when examined from 3 inches in front of the screen. From the other side of the room, i.e. 15 feet, the image is fabulous. Other SD transmissions from here in the States have the same effect. It's the SD transmission quality, not the TV. DVD's are outrageous even in standard DVD quality. For about $80 you can find a major-brand up-grade converter to transform standard DVD's into near-HD quality. Be sure to use a quality HDMI cable available for <$10 on-line. Now, when you go to TV broadcasts in HD, eg. the local news, Fox Sports, Robin Meade on CNN, then you see what looks like a 3-D image that blows you away. We watched National Geographic's "Inside the Vietnam War", MLB, Nascar, various music performances, and were very impressed. They ran a "Burn Notice Marathon" on USA Network--it's like looking through a window. There is a reflection issue around the screen, but all you have to do is dim your lights at night. It's so cool to watch the TV in the dark, like at the movies. The easy way to kill the reflections is not to put black tape on the set. RECOMMENDATION: just set the unit further back in your furniture enclosure and the reflections will disappear since the ambiant light will no longer reach the screen from the sides. The TV looks so stylish, similar in style to my wife's Toshiba laptop. It completely fills the open space in our huge furniture home entertainment center. A killer TV. BTW, our big room measures 16' by 32' and the kitchen looks out into the room. Now I can wash the dishes and enjoy the show. The sofa is at about 15' from the screen and is just perfect. As for the speakers: many people complain that they don't like the sound, whine, whine, whine. 1) I did a custom settings myself (for free) and the sound is excellent! 20W speakers sound fantastic, no need to turn it above 25 on the scale 0-100. 2) For a bigger-than-life experience, I connected it to our "old" Sony 200W home entertainment system, which has several pre-set sound mixes (large/small concert hall, automatic, 5.1 surround sound, game, jazz, "house music", etc.) which does the job with ease. Rock on Wayne, with AC/DC's tour videos. Forget the reflections, watch the show. Also, I did a custom settings myself on the picture and the picture is a quantum-leap better viewing than with the standard settings. You can always revert back to the out-of-the-box settings. The remote control menu settings is very intuitive, extremely well thought out. The people in-store at Best Buy were knowledgeable, courteous, and helped me decide what features made best sense for me, rather than pushing me towards this or that TV. The set-up and delivery guys were great. They called to let us know that they would arrive within 15 minutes. They were very careful in doing the set-up. I would definitely recommned Best Buy and THIS television. Party on, Garth....

INCREDIBLE
Posted .I researched TVs for over 6 months and I have to say without a doubt, this is the first electronics purchase I have ever made and did not have buyer's remorse. This TV is incredible, you haven't seen Transformers, or 300, or IronMan untill you have seen it Blue-Ray on this TV, it will take your breath away. The picture is perfect, the detail is phenominal, and the color is so vivid you will think what your seeing is real. I have been a long time Sony guy, until now, every electronic device in my home has been Sony, but Samsung really hit the nail on the head with this TV. It truly is a better LCD TV than any Bravia on the market. I have watched more TV in the past 3 weeks than in the past 3 years, everybody can't wait to get home and watch movies or play games with each other on the PS3. When I asked my wife if we could get it , all she said was it is just a TV and why so much $$$, since then she has started rebuying our movie collection with nothing but Blue-Ray, she loves it. We got lucky and bought the TV on sale but in any case it is well worth the coin. The only thing I didn't care for was the thumbwheel on the remote, it works fine but really wasn't needed, however it does not detract from the value of this product. Thank you Samsung for opening my eyes. Be very carefull when buying an HDTV, read the fine print on those cheapos, I am glad I did, don't worry about researching, I did it for you, just get this TV and you won't regret it.

Thank you all!
Posted .I would like to thank all of you who wrote a review for this TV. I am not the tech guy. I am not the gamer. But, I am grateful for all of your input. I have been looking for a TV for about 6 months. I was beat on about how much better plasma is. How it is better in dark rooms. How the picture is better. How sports are better on it. This is by everybody who supposedly knows better than I. I have to tell you, I don't see it. Side by side, I found the LCD better. There are 150 TV's to look at that are LCD. There are 40 to look at that are plasma. I thought that maybe if the manufacturers are producing more LCD, maybe they know what is better. I am not disappointed in my choice. I got it home for the football season. I got it in time to see Tom Brady get knocked out for the year. I had a picture perfect view of the hit. (Yeah...great TV, huh?) The action is crisp. The picture is vibrant. (I have a darker room). The picture is astounding. All the reviews are correct about that. I can't find any Cons. The wheel on the remote is a little sensitive, but it works fine. The wheel is to switch from input to input. If you are not going to switch, you won't even know it is supposed to be a little difficult. It isn't. The reflection on the border? Maybe in a brighter room it would be a problem, but in a darker room, honestly, it isn't even noticeable. And I was looking for it. The price? It just went down $500. I still think I got a great TV. So great, in fact, that standard analog reception stations look like doggie doo (sorry...I got censored for the word "cr*p"). OK, so maybe that is a Con. If you are watching regular TV, the picture is bigger than my old TV and all the imperfections are magnified on the bigger screen. Think blowing up a 1 megapixel picture. the picture gets pixilated and much more blurry. With this TV, the regular picture gets fuzzy. Fine by me. I got it for HD. It is the first time I have had HD. It is GREAT!!!!! Maybe there are better choices for gamers. Maybe there are better choices for the tech folks. I just watch TV and movies. I really don't think I could have gotten a better TV.

THIS LCD IS OFF THE HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted .This 750 is off the HOOK. It is so impressive that it is actually so shocking for some people. Its like they never saw a lcd like this before. The whole entire time of watching RAMBO my family had there mouths open to a point were they all seem to be drooling. Its so fancinating that it seems like your actually in there with them while they were shooting the video with blu-ray and 120hz on high. You could see all the sweats and oil on rambo's face and all the hair that he just shaved off from his mustache. One thing that I have to mention is that out of all the flat screens that I watch, I never saw any blood as real as this one. In one of the scenes in rambo there was a man that got shot from the back and the blood just came splashing out and it looked so real my entire family starts jumping and wanted to see it again. On the last scene, Rambo shot the bad guy from the back of the mini truck my sister start screaming running out of the room covering her eyes. Coming back a few seconds later and said it looks to real and we should'nt be watching this cause we might have nightmares. I've also watch transformer on blu-ray and man its too good to be true I have to give it up for this movie. The picture quality on the 750 and the effects on the movie is so awsome that it could really blow your eyes out. Its like I am in a special theater room watching an unbelievable movie on an screen that is out of this world and literally got me magnatie to my seat. I could go on and on talking how awsome this samsung 750 so to everyone that dont have one or looking for one or wants one that is reading my reviews right now PLEASE GO AND GET ONE cause the LED TVS are out now so it should be a little bit less expinsive.

Totally worth every penny!
Posted .Awesome TV! It's worth every penny! My brother had a 60 inch Samsung 1080p DLP tv. He moved out which meant that I had to buy a TV on my own. It took me a little while to save money to buy a tv and I knew that I had wanted a Samsung. I've heard that it had sound quality issues, but I didn't really need to worry about that because I was going to use a home theater system to go along with it. How can you not have that? It's like going to the movies and not getting any popcorn. Bought the tv from Best Buy, they delivered on time (in fact early) and set up was so easy! Tweaked it a little bit, set up the home theater and in an hour, we were already watching movies. We didn't have HDMI cables when the TV first arrived and so we used component cables but boy, was it beautiful! When HDMI cables replaced the component cables - we could not believe how incredibly beautiful the screen was. Everything we watched seemed so fake! Like a documentary almost. We noticed things that we never noticed before watching the same movies. When I thought the DLP rocked, this TV was just way beyond its league. I don't miss the extra 8 inches the DLP had. If are in the market to buy a TV, and the one that you're looking at is a little bit cheaper than this one, SPEND THE MONEY AND BUY THIS ONE. You will not regret it!

Q: QuestionIs 240 Hz better than 120 Hz ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The simple answer is yes – the higher the Hz, the better… but it all depends on your lifestyle and how these features will affect it. 240Hz is double the refresh rate and provides the smoothest motion currently available (great for sports and fast action movies). If this is the type of feature that you are looking for, then yes, 240Hz is better, However if it is not, then 120Hz will suffice.

Q: QuestionWhat are the actual measurements of the TV?I know the 52" is from corner to corner and the depth is 4 1/5". What is the actual width and height (including the stand)?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer With the stand, you will want a clearance of 52.0 x 13.3 x 33.9 (WxDxH). This includes the stand, and the 13.3 inches accounts for the stand's depth.
Answered by MrSamsung
Q: Questionwhy does it say in the manual its a 60hz and not 120 hz and when you look on the tv it says 60hz not 120hz
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer There are two points to take away from this. First, you have to go into the settings and set the Auto Motion Plus/120Hz option to the highest setting. That will activate the 120Hz upconverting. Secondly, once the 120Hz is activated, it will automatically display the signal at 120Hz, even though the info box says 60Hz. The info box will only display the information of the actual signal, and not the upconverted stats.

Q: Questionhow many watts per channel on a 5.1 receiver do i need for good/great sound
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The watts rating is elusive. You need some power (maybe 50+ watts) for the subwoofer (and how much depends on a lot of factors...room size, subwoofer size, etc), but most other audio can be discerned nicely with 10W +/- per speaker...less is ok, too. The best way to shop for speakers is to listen, if possible. But, really....my most enjoyment comes from a low-end system made by S*. It's nothing special, but a great subwoofer is key.

Q: QuestionIs the 240hz LCD faster or slower than the 60hz/600hzsubfield of your plasma, mostly related to watching sportsIs the 240hz LCD faster than the 60Hz/600Hz subfield of the plasma or slower, related to sports
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer In general, the higher the refresh rate the smoother a moving picture will appear. It's important to remember, however, that "subfield motion" and similar terms describe the combined refresh rate of every picture segment on the screen and not the actual refresh rate of the display! For example, a TV that's listed as 60Hz refresh rate/600Hz subfield motion is actually comprised of 10 different fields. Each of these fields will "flash" the same portion of an image 60 times each second (60Hz), which (in theory) improves the overall picture quality. If you'd like additional information though I would strongly encourage you to speak with a home theater specialist at your local Best Buy store. There is, after all, no substitute for seeing a physical, side-by-side comparison.
