Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5TV is excellent. Remote can control cable box amongst other things. Only issue it’s hard to program. Had to call customer service a few times because it wouldn’t take a RE-program after the kids messed with it. Otherwise the TV is grade A. Originally bought open box 55” was impressed... but it had an issue. Went back and got the 65” brand new. Beats the comparable LG and Samsung models feature and picture wise in my opinion.

Flexibility of an Android TV in a Sony brand
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Color, Picture, PriceThis was our first big screen TV. We have been watching IPADs and small flat screens for the last few years. Finally had enough and decided to upgrade. Price points are all over the place. I didn't want a cheap stripped down model but I also did not want to break the bank. This seemed like a compromise of the two extremes. It had just enough quality to make you feel like you were paying a little extra for some quality without the > 1000 price tag. Got it on sale for 799 with decent amount of reward points to defray even that cost down a few hundred. I like the Sony brand. I have been using their consumer grade still cameras for quite a while and was always impressed with the video capabilities so I leaned toward Sony when I shopped. The picture in the showroom looked warmer and not as contrived as some of the more discount 65 inch models. This may have been the setup and my pre-conceived notions on Sony, but it honestly looked better to me. I had it delivered with basic delivery. I was pleasantly surprised they brought it into the room I wanted it in. It was up a flight a stairs and I would probably have not been able to carry it myself. They did not unbox it (I think that is standard unless you buy the enhanced delivery). The box was easy to open with a kind of foam pedestal that the TV sits on while you are prepping it. I had a stand already built and ready to have the TV mounted to it. It mounted rather easily to the stand although I needed to do that twice. I didn't notice the spacers that you need to put in the VESA holes until I opened up the remote control bag. So I had to unmount and remount. Not a big deal with another person helping to lift the TV. Once I got it turned on and wired up. ( I used a physical network cable since my router is directly under my TV set). I was very happy with the software. I was worried that it would be proprietary but it was Android TV, which meant I did not need an additional set top box to enable any streaming services. All the main services were out of the box like Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu and much more. Because it is Android, it has apps available from the Google Play store like VPN clients and IPTV clients without a need for an outside set top device. There are even apps that allow for viewing of my QNAP network drive video library. I was up and running on all my streaming services within 15 minutes. I hooked a satellite receiver to HDMI1 and off it went. After setting up the satellite remote to see the TV. Everything went well. I haven't tried to do a single remote but there is some crossover functionality that I set up and it seems to work. All I can say is... Its BIG for my eyes. I love it and got used to it rather quickly but when you move from a 27 inch to a 65 inch. It is a drastic change. Watched some sports and streaming movies. I have not noticed any jittering of the picture. The refresh rate looks good to me. The clarity and colors are incredible as far as I can see. The blacks may be a little gray because of the price point but I really do not notice it unless I am in a darkened room. I believe that is common on TVs of this class and not an issue to me. Sound is good but a bit tinny but it seems very directional. Impressive based on the fact that they are internal speakers. I played with the settings a bit and got it tuned to my 50+ year old ears. Its passable but I have a 5.1 sound bar with rear speakers ordered to complete my setup. My pluses are: Android TV Sony quality

Q: QuestionSo local dimming is the best way to go which is on the 900f series compared to the 800h series even though F series is from 2018. Why not put this on H series?
Asked by Jim.
- A:Answer This is also an IPS panel (one of the few that Sony manufactures)..not necessarily a bad thing as it has a wide viewing angle, and as long as you watch with some lights on the lower contrast won't be very noticeable. If watching in total darkness, the blacks will appear a bit grayish.

Q: QuestionWhat is the sound really like? I see it is HDR but it came up under my search for dolby atmos. Should I consider the sound bar to go with or will I get that booming sound from the tv alone?
Asked by PrinceFam.
- A:Answer I own the SONY XBR65X800H 4K HDR ULTRA HD TV and I can tell you that the sound from the TV amp/speakers alone do not do justice to the sound signals (5.1, 7.2, and Dolby Atmos) offered by HD programming, most DVDs, and Blu-ray. A sound-bar setup would be an improvement over the TV speakers, but to hear high-quality sound you will need to add a home entertainment receiver and speakers. An excellent receiver match for this TV is the SONY STR DH790. Watch for sales, it is very reasonably priced and it features up to 7.2 sound and Dolby Atmos. Naturally, the quality of your sound also will depend on the quality of your speakers. The "booming" sound you desire will be provided by your subwoofer. Another reason these two SONY units are an excellent match is because you need only a single remote. The TV power-on function automatically switches on the receiver, then switches the sound signal from the TV speakers to the receiver. Powering-off the TV also switches off the receiver. I have my SONY STR DH790 receiver and speakers set up for 7.2 Atmos, even though, of course, most programming at this time is 5.1. I am very pleased with this TV/receiver/speakers combination. The sound (and surround effect) is spectacular -- even when I listen to 5.1 or 7.2 through my headphones connected to the receiver!

- A:Answer Hi RB, Thank you for interest in XBR65X800H. Yes, the TV supports dual voltage. The X800H TV model purchased in the US has a power requirement of 120 V AC, 60 Hz and 110-240 V AC 50/60Hz for other countries. I hope this helps. – Kris
