A great Bette Davis film from 1940
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so happy when this was announced for a Blu-ray release. The Letter (1940) is one of my favorite pictures. The cinematography by Tony Gaudio is some of the best B&W film ever (especially that last scene, under the moonlight). I would recommend this for Bette Davis fans, classic film lovers, and overall cinephiles. The PQ and AQ are great. Special features are two radio programs fro Lux Radio Theatre (I'm an OTR enthusiast, so these were nice), the theatrical trailer (which if you haven't seen the film, DO NOT watch the trailer), and an alternate ending sequence which, as film preservation goes, is great to have. Another great release from Warner Archive.

Perfect Picture Quality of a Classic Film
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Warner Archive's recent release of "The Letter" on Blu Ray was well worth it's wait. The film, itself, was restored and the transfer to disc made for an amazingly crisp and clean Black and White image. "The Letter" marks just one of eleven Bette Davis Oscar nominations for Best Actress, so finally having this film available on Blu Ray was made for an immediate purchase and should be supported without hesitation by anyone else who cares about our classic films. Hopefully, we'll see more Bette Davis gems in the future.

Regret It or Else
