THREE STOOGES DVD, BOUGHT THE LAST FIVE COLLECTOR EPESODES TO COMPLETE MY COLLECTION. A+
Posted by PDXGUY
Finally, the very last of The Three Stooges rare short subjects has been released by Sony (Columbia Pictures) completing a many years, awaited collection. Years because, the films featuring Joe "Cut it out!-Oh you!" Besser, and the boy's final shorts at Columbia, have now been released for the very 1st time. This is a big event for all Stooge fans. Having grown up in New England, watching The Stooges broadcast on then TV38 in Boston on weekend mornings, was a staple for most kids and adults. Those of you reading this who were there will agree. But there are Stooges fans world-wide, of course. I was a total Curly fan, and hated the "Joes" during the early years of watching them. I am a total Stooges fan, as are my brothers & friends. In fact I was such a Stooges fan, a funny thing happened.. I grew more interested in being a Stooge "completist!" Instead of hating the Besser shorts--I loved them, showing the boys in their final years at Columbia. This is a 3-disc package-the biggest in the collection. Included are the last of the "Shemps" and the ultra-rare "A Merry Mix-up" featuring 9 Stooges! Sony did a fantastic, stellar job with the original transfers, and deserves a big round of applause. The digital image quality & sound is incredible. We watched them all in widescreen splendor, 10' big in our home theater. We highly recommend this rare collection, the last shorts made by Hollywood's longest lasting & most famous comedy team. BestBuy's price has the lowest price at your local store. I counted the days, and was at BestBuy on June 1st to get my Stoogy 3-disc package...but you probably guessed that!!
