Best One Yet

This is another stellar Shark. This seems to be their best one. They are rated the highest in the industry for a reason. Great suction. Easy to dump and clean. The canister latches are strong. The bucket holds a lot. Easy to maneuver. The attachments work good. The nozzle brush roller seem lightweight but very durable. Great suction. Pet hair no problem. There were issues with other models on the bucket latches and nozzle brush roller but it seems fine. Long cord. Easy to clean filters.

his is a great vacuum. This is easily the most powerful one I have used. Perfect for pet owners/ This grabs all of the hair from the carpets, rugs, and with the great attachment, the sofa too. The suction on this thing is incredible. Recommended to anyone looking for a cleaner living area.

Horrible Customer Service
Posted by: RBoysenberry from: on
This is a great vacuum supposedly with a 5 year warrenty. It broke after 2 months. I called Shark, was told they'd replace it. They sent an entirely different (cheaper) model which I didn't want. I told them this, they said, 'it's in the warrenty; we can replace it with a similar vacuum if the first one isn't made anymore'. I told them this isn't the one I bought, it doesn't have the features I need. The new and improved replacement model for the one I bought does but is more expensive. They said 'too bad thats all we can do'.
Their vacuums are great, their customer service and warrenty are totally worthless.
I brought it back to the Costco where I bought it - they had more in stock and replaced it.
Even tho I love the vacuum I will never deal with this company or buy a Shark again. They have no integrity.

Excellent and versatile vacuum.
Posted by: MisterE66 from: Pocono Lake, PA on
This vacuum is excellent. It is easy to use and to change configurations from carpet to bare floor, and from canister to upright. The tools are also easy to use. The price was excellent too. It cost about half of what our old Oreck cost us.

I got Wowed
Posted by: 3cats1dog from: Asheville, NC on
Wow. Wow. This has great suction, useful functions, transitions from hardwood to carpet, crosses door thresholds easily, is self propelled, and is shockingly quiet. Got this one after I returned a consumer reports top rated Hoover, which just didn't work for me. Confession: I think the commercials that I've seen for the Shark are a little hokey, and I thought all the "things" the vacuum can do was kinda gimmicky. Try prying it from my hands now.
It's easy to push on the hardwood floor, and is very quiet with the brushes off. The brushes "on" only raise the noise level slightly. It pulls itself when the brushes are on, making it easy to use on carpet. It is fairly light. It does not need to have the height adjusted for different surfaces. The way the wand works is really clever. You can pull out the long wand, which is long enough for getting the floor corners or under furniture, or the short one, which helps with upholstery. The way the vacuum detaches from the roller brush is brilliant, making it easy to carry out to the car in the driveway to vacuum it. It has a rolling base that converts it into a canister vac, sort of, making it easy for this purpose.
It has suction adjustment on the wand, to turn it down for delicate items like drapes. This is the only area that could use improvement-an arrow or something showing that you are increasing or decreasing suction would be good, but I don't use this feature, so I don't mind. With 4 pets, I need full suction, all the time.
The cord is long enough-yes, I wish is was automatic rewind, but I am so happy with the way this vacuum functions, I can wrap it manually. The canister is easy to empty.
I am very happy I gave it a chance, because it's great for me. Will likely order some additional attachments from the website soon.

"One of the best vacuum cleaners"
Posted by: Eric from: Maryland on
I had bought this vacuum cleaner for my mother. She absolutely loves it. Out of the box assembly was pretty straight forward. She was a little confused at first but once I showed her she has no issue with it anymore. For the price versus other vacuums this one is by far exceeding our expectations, with phenomenal performance, attachments for about any situation, easy cleanup or emptying the canister, and the ability to disconnect the floor cleaner and carry around the canister with you. The allergen filters are all easily accessible for cleaning. On top of that it is very lightweight and versatile. All of it is backed by a 5 year guarantee from the manufacturer. If you don't mind spending a little more for a vacuum cleaner than most of your streamline ones I would highly recommend this product.

Lasted 4 months!
Posted by: Ladylori1975 from: on
I would not recommend this product to anyone because even with a 5 year warranty you have to pay for shipping and handling of a defective item! This will at least cost you 40.00+. And good luck getting any supervisor on the phone while trying to contact a shark representative. They will refuse you and give u a million excuses including they are in a meeting, unable to talk to you for whatever reason. Spent over an hour on the phone with 10 different representatives who refuse to give their supervisor. I will never buy a shark product again!

Having two white cats, my house is almost impossible to clean, with hair EVERYWHERE. This vacuum is excellent on couches and throw rugs, and cleans up litter so easily. Highly recommended for pet owners

Very poor customer service if machine has problems
Posted by: Disgusted from: on
If you have problems with your machine, you have to send it to the company at your expense, pay $20 for them to send it back to you, and be without a vacuum for 4-6 weeks. They do not manufacture parts to have machine fixed locally. Local vacuum repair shop said the vacuums are considered disposables by the company. I was only able to use the machine less than 6 months without problems.

Great vac, but problem after 18 days
Posted by: FanOfToshiba from: New London, CT on
I bought this vacuum just over two weeks ago. I vacuumed with my old vac immediately before using the Shark for the first time. I could hardly believe how much the Shark picked up that my other vac had left behind. The dust cup is SO much easier to dump than the cup on my last vac. The accessories are all quite useful, though the wand is a bit heavier than I'd like.
Unfortunately, it appears that the button that releases the wand no longer works (used about 4 times), and without being about to use the wand, quite a few of the Shark's functionalities are eliminated.
To add insult to injury, Best Buy in Waterford, CT was unwilling to do an exchange since my purchase was 18 days ago. (Unbeknownst to me, they'd recently cut return time in half...) I bought it with the special 6-month financing, and I haven't even made my first payment yet! I was shocked that Best Buy was unwilling to exchange the vacuum within such a short time frame.
Thus, I was forced to call Shark. Fortunately, they were much more accommodating. I will have to send the vacuum back to them, but they did say they would send a new replacement. Of course, this means that I'll be without a vacuum for a week or so. Unfortunately, I threw away the original box, so I'll have to dig up something the broken vac will fit into. The person at Shark was also surprised that Best Buy has such an unbelievably short return period.
At any rate, I'm hoping that the now non-functioning wand button on my current Shark is the exception and not the rule, because otherwise I love this vacuum. I'll try to post an update after I receive the replacement vacuum.
