Q: Ad says this is a convection microwave, is it?
A: Yes this is a convection oven and microwave. It runs either convection alone, microwave alone, or a combination of the two. I've found this to be exceptionally superior with child snacks, in particular my kids like chicken nuggets, pizza, hamburgers, and hotdogs. The chicken nuggets are crispy, pizza browned and bubbling cheese, hamburgers and hotdogs microwaved in bun WITHOUT hardening the bun or making it mushy (although it does brown and toast the buns a little), and things like mac & cheese end up with a nice light brown crust if wanted.
Q: How many cubic feet of air does the vent move?
A: Great question. This product is rated 300 cfm.
Q: Does this microwave come in black?
A: Unfortunately, no. This particular model is only available in stainless steel.
Q: Can an over the range microwave be installed to sit on a shelf, and vent to the front (recirculate)?
A: Why would you want to? The vent also is for the 2 grease filters on the bottom of the microwave, plus, there is a light. The frame that comes with the microwave is sooooo easy to install, then the microwave sits on two tabs, and 2 screws from above, that is the tricky part, you have to cut the template to size based on the the underpart of the cabinet and its thickness. a little bit of attention to detail, patience, and you will get it done.
