A: When I bought this laptop I was told it came with a pen. But on pickup it wasn't there. I was told it USED to come with a pen but no more. I really feel this is a come on. I am still thinking of complaining more about this come on. Seems this should be supplied.
Q: Does the i5 8gb version of surface book 2 have Nvidia graphics?
A: There are no Nvidia graphics on the Core i5 models. On the 13.5" Surface Book 2 you can step up to the Core i7 to get the Nvidia GTX1050 graphics chipset with 2GB memory. Sticking with the Core i5 you only get Intel 620 HD graphics. If you go with the 15" Surface Book, it only comes with a Core i7 and the Nvidia GTX1060 chipset with 6GB of memory.
A: I've had the Surface book 2 for about a month now. Realistically I do not think that it can last up to 17hrs. If you are doing any type of work I would say probably closer to the 7 hours mark, and then also if its in Battery-Saver Mode it slow down quite a bit. I took off that feature as it got REALLY slow in that mode.
Q: Do the edges of the surface tablet have a magnet to hold onto the pen (like the surface pro)?
A: Yes, the pen will attach to the Surface Book 2 edges magnetically.
Q: Why is the processor listed as 8th generation but the processor model is i5-7300U (7th generation)?
A: Some models include (higher end) 8th gen CPU but MS sells the laptops with the following: The two CPU options are a 7th Generation i5-7300U with 2C/4T sporting a 2.6 GHz base clock and up to 3.5 GHz Turbo, and the 8th Generation i7 8650U with 4C/8, a base clock of 1.9 GHz and Turbo to 4.2 GHz.
Q: Is this powerful enough to edit videos, and I'm talking like editing 10-25 minute videos
A: You would want a dedicated GPU and more cores otherwise you might be able to render some basic 1080p video.
Q: Do I get 100$ gift card for preordering this product?
A: I received it.
