Q: Will these work between main house and cottage when cottage has a breaker panel fed by house?

A: Mine are on different electrical citcuits in my house and work great. So, since the breaker panel in the cottage is fed by the breaker panel in the house, I'm pretty sure they will. Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer.

Q: Will this work with my PS4

A: Yes, as long as the Powerline kit is properly installed, you can use it to connect your PS4 to the network via Ethernet. Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: Most of the powerline adapters, these included, come in pairs. What if I need an odd number? Can you buy a single extra unit a la carte or must you get an additional pair?

A: I am an end-user so cannot answer all questions about what is available from the market. What I do know is that I believe they are sold in pairs because one is needed as a transmitter, and one us used at the receiver. That being said, I also know that they will work successfully in odd numbers. I presently have 3 in use, one, of course as the transmitter, one as a receiver for my TV, and one as a receiver for a laptop that consistently has issues staying connected to the WIFI. Extending the virtual Ethernet to that laptop indirectly solved its connection issues. I might suggest that if you have need for one, you might have need for more in the near future, as I did. I was not able to find a single unit for sale, though I must admit I did not do an exhaustive search. I did suspect that I would have a need for expansion in the future so didn't shy away from having a spare laying around. (At some point in the near future, I plan to update the TV in the guest bedroom from dumb to smart, and when that happens, I will put the spare unit to use.) I would also suggest that when you select a supplier, be sure to confirm that any units you buy meet the IEEE standard for Ethernet-over-power lines. That way you can be sure that all units you buy will work together, even if sourced from different manufacturers.

Q: Will this device block the other plug-in position on the outlet?

A: No. It's designed to allow another outlet to be used.

Q: Does this product have HomePlug AV2 protocol?

A: Yes, it does. I saw it in the product brochure on the Best Buy site. https://files.bbystatic.com/U%2BxlGKOliyWHiZoJkl%2BGGw%3D%3D/D8F2C595-87BA-4E07-ABB7-C59B7D1EF7FB.pdf

Q: Is this item in store

A: Depends on the location, but none of my local best buys had it in stock. I was able to pick it up locally at another brick and mortar retailer. Best Buy is making a mistake by not carrying these in stock. But they may be trying to sway you into spending $85 for the Netgear one instead. I almost did.
