A: No you do not need to Mount Your phone. I keep mine either in my pocket or in the glove compartment. You do need to mount the push button thingy that comes with it but that comes with a self adhesive sticker.

Echo Auto connects to Alexa through your phone's Alexa app and plays through your car's speakers via auxiliary input or your smartphone's Bluetooth connection. Step 1 Plug the USB cable into your car's power outlet using the included adapter, or directly into the USB port. Step 2 Use the Alexa app to begin set up. Make sure to download the latest version of the Alexa app. Step 3 Before every drive, make sure your phone's volume is turned up and the audio input (Bluetooth or auxiliary) is selected.
