Awesome, Just Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a very picky person, especially when it comes to great quality sound. I usually go with Beats, I had to recently replace my UR Beats because they were no longer working. I tried the Powerbeats2 wireless and I was not happy with them at all. After talking to a Best Buy employee she recommended the Bose. I decided to give them a try and WOW these are definitely keepers. The sound is AMAZING and they are sooooooo comfortable. I mainly use them at the GYM and they block out all the noise. I get lost in my music and loose track of time while working out! Buy them you wont regret it and buy the 2year protection plan too! Anything happens to them Best Buy has the best warranties out there, they give you a new pair, no questions asked!

Worth The Money
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Bose's are a great option for PC or phone for work and play. The bass is brilliant, not over powering, deep and clear but only in sound cancelling mode. Pretty shallow without sound canceling. Highs are solid and clean. Do not work well in noise cancelling mode in a topless wrangler with the wind pressure and noise - they end up making a "pop" sound. No background hiss at zero volume in the quiet of a room. Can hear people talk when I turn the noise cancelling off. The volume and mute buttons work great with my Galaxies Note 8 and S10+ and works with a needed dongle for the Tab6 usb C port or i phone. Also good sound on the receiver's end I'm told on phone calls. The clip keeps the wires in while I work and takes the pressure off of the earpiece. Good Dbs for my slightly impaired hearing. The battery lasts several days. I'll throw it in the charger every few evenings. They do charge and work in noise cancelling at the same time though you might hear a hum if charging off a computer. The rubbery wire and 90 degree end work well bent along my phone and in the pocket. The shell also is hard and seems pretty durable. And ear-wise, they fit it in great without feeling like they will fall out and don't feel like a tight plug either; and I now have no discomfort after 10 hours but ready to take them out by then. It's hard to go back to my my JBL over-the-ears or Galaxy Buds+ for both sound and comfort and function.

Xbox Audio, Cool & Comfortable
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Call it overkill. My wife did… I got the Bose QuietComfort 20 Headphones (Android) to use with my Xbox. Over the years, I’ve used wired and wireless headsets from Astro, Turtle Beach and HyperX. They were all the standard over-ear cans. I got tired of the headset-head (you know that ear-to-ear dent in the hair) and blazing hot ears after gaming for any length of time while wearing an over-the-ear headset. I’ve read that the Apple version of these headphones doesn’t work with in-game voice chat and that the headphone jack pinout is different for Apple vs. Android, so I was sure to get the Android-spec product. They plug right into the controller and just work. Getting to the point, the Bose QuietComfort 20 are very comfortable and sound great. The (excellent) noise cancelling can be turned on and off with an inline switch, but it’s been my observation that, in addition to reducing outside sound intrusion, it also boosts in-game sound. Everything just sounds better. I mostly play multiplayer shooters, and I really appreciate the directionality and perceived sense of distance to a sound (i.e., how far away was that footstep/gunshot). I’ve tried both the Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos surround sound options offered on Xbox and prefer Dolby’s effect. I’m told that the mic sounds fine. Bose StayHear headphone tips: I’m keeping these because they are easily the most comfortable in-ear headphones I’ve used. Seriously, they’re all-day comfortable. I have some wired earbuds from JVC and Sony and gave them a try. While they sounded okay, the snug in-ear canal design of the silicone tips became uncomfortable. The Bose StayHear tips are made from a super soft silicone and have a cone shape that rests comfortably against the ear canal opening, as opposed to in it, and does a good job of passive noise reduction which only improves when noise cancelling is turned on. The active noise cancelling is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It charges in about an hour via USB and lasts for hours of use. It can be used while charging. To preserve battery life, the circuit can be turned off while not in use. I tried a couple of Bluetooth transmitters with my true wireless earbuds (Samsung and Bose), but it introduced an unacceptable audio lag, so wired it is. As a bonus, the QC20s also sound terrific with my phone whether in a call or listening to music.

Excellent noise reduction earbuds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My etymotic headphones that I have had for many years have finally started to break down, probably because I use them as earplugs while mowing the yard, as well as just for general listening. I have an original pair of the Bose Noise Cancelling headphones in the "over the ear" style, but they're a little awkward for use around the yard, so I decided to give their earbud version a try. I have to say I'm impressed. The noise reduction seems to be better with the earbuds than the old original headphones, and the sound-quality is very good. These aren't audiophile/studio quality earbuds (like say a set of Shure SE535's), but, their sound quality is still very good. And I'm going to be using them in a noisy environment anyway, so no need for ultra quality at that point. The NR feature is excellent, almost eerie when you try it in a low-noise environment. I have yet to try it in the yard, but I don't doubt they will be just fine. I used to use my older headphones in airplanes, and they worked just fine. I think I may retire those, and just take these instead. The earbuds are very comfortable, and the little hook mechanism seems to do a very good job of keeping the buds in place. They come with three sizes of cushions to customize the fit. I ended up back on the "Mediums" after trying the other two. Since I'm not using them with a phone, I can't speak (haha) to the microphone quality, but it works well in the "ambient" mode where you can hear some ambient noise as opposed to total noise cancellation. The only thing I can ding it on, besides the price, is that it does have a small box on the line near the mini plug. It's there because that's where the battery, main controls, and I assume, the electronics to run the NR. There's no help for it, you have to put that stuff somewhere. It's not huge, or too heavy, but you will need to tuck it in behind your iPod/phone/device or otherwise strap/pin it down so it doesn't flop around. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

Very Nice earbuds for noisy environments
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds are simply amazing. You put them in, turn them on and the world goes away. All that you are left with is the ringing in your ears. (Too many concerts) Taking calls in a noisy environment is now possible, even easy. I am still in awe whenever I turn them on. They do need to be recharged. The battery pack and electronics are in a heavier box near the plug. There are microphones in each earpiece, making the wire larger than normal, but it is proving to be pretty robust. (I worry about so many small wires in a cable) There is a clip to keep the heavier wires from tugging on your ears, the clip seems robust. I use my electronics gently, even so, these seem to be built to last a while. You are more likely to run out of charge cycles on the battery than break the things with a little care. The battery is rated for 16 hours of listening, and it holds a charge very nicely. The noise canceling is not perfect, you can still pickup sudden noises, faintly, and there is a button to turn it off. They work great on an airplane. The advantage is that you can listen to things at a much lower volume level because you don't have competing sounds to mask your signal. That can save what hearing you have left (concerts). The box comes with three sizes of ear inserts that are well-made and snap solidly to the electronics. The battery is charged with a micro-USB cable, included. There is a soft carry case for the earbuds and charge cable. I ultimately went for the earbuds over the Zik II due to size while traveling. I am happy with them.

Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical when the rep told me the ear buds would fit because even the smallest ones I'd tried never fit and would fall out. These not only fit but they were very comfortable and stayed in. Now, to think that ear buds could be noise canceling was beyond belief, but when the switch was flipped the shock registered on my face. This was amazing! These wonderful tiny ear buds were just as effective as the best Bose noise canceling over the head headphones I tried and these would fit in my pocket! My husband and I have different tastes in music. He blasts his through the radio when we travel so on our last long road trip I used these for hours and was in my own little world hearing the fabulous sound of my own music from my iPod.

noise cancelling is amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tested out several styles of Bose headphones before picking these. I commute to work by train, and it's virtually impossible to hear anything clearly on normal headphones without the volume near maximum. I was impressed with these the second I turned on noise cancellation, without having hit play on the actual music. Once I started the music, I was blown away by what I was hearing. It would be a disservice to call these "earbuds." Still, as great as they sounded in the store, I was worried that I would be disappointed the first time I wore them during my commute. They lived up to everything I felt about them in the store and softened the blow of having spent so much money on them (something I swore I'd never do for a pair of headphones, but these converted me). These sold me on Bose as a brand, and I'm still looking for any excuse to buy a pair of over-the-ear or on-ear headphones. The in-ear headphones without noise cancellation sounded great as well and would have sufficed in less noisy environments; however, I highly recommend these if external noise (such as a loud train) factor into your decision at all. Also, whatever you're listening to remains in your ears; I have taken these out to listen for noise bleeding, which is non-existent.

Q: QuestionRE: noise cancellation quality when not listening to musicMy main purpose for buying noise canceling headphones is not to listen to music without distractions, but to have peace and quiet while not listening to music. Peace. Quiet. No music, either. So, how well does the noise cancellation perform when not listening to any music? When not listening to music, will conversations be blocked out? Or, do they perform better with reducing noises like air conditioner units, subway sounds, but do not do well with blocking out human speech?
Asked by NoisyUpstairsNeighbors.
- A:Answer I found that voices will be muffled, but will still be able to hear them. The other incidental noises will be cut out. For example, on an airplane, when I turn them on without listing to any music all the sounds of the airplane itself go away, but unfortunately you can hear a baby crying or a loud passenger talking. It does reduce those sounds, but you can still hear the people and baby. When it gets like that, I put some relaxation music on really low, just enough to block out the voices and it seems to work.

Q: QuestionPlugging jack into devices -- or not -- for just using noise cancellationIf I just want to tune out my obnoxious upstairs neighbors and not listen to any music, can I simply turn on the noise canceling earbuds without plugging them into my iPhone (or any other device)? Will the active noise cancellation still work if not plugged into a music player or other device? My primary purpose will be noise cancellation (not music listening) and I want something I can comfortably wear around the house -- without always needing to be tethered to my iPhone -- while I count the months until my lease expires. Thanks. ... and never rent a downstairs apartment.
Asked by NoiseyUpstairsNeighbors.
- A:Answer Yes you can use the noise canceling by itself without having it plugged into a device. I will warn you however that when there is no sound coming out of the headphones and the noise canceling is engaged, there is a very quiet but noticeable hiss/high pitched whine that can be heard without some form of sound covering it up. Depending on your age you may not be able to hear the quiet whine, but you will probably notice the hiss.

Q: QuestionHow many charges/recharges?I noticed one reviewer indicates that the headphones are only guaranteed to recharge 500 times. Is that accurate? What happens after 500 charges?
Asked by readycat.
- A:Answer Hi Readycat. That is a great question. The QuietComfort 20i battery is rated at 500 charge cycles at 80% capacity and will last for many years. Over time, the amount of charge the battery can provide will go down. One charge cycle is equal to every 100% of the battery power being used. Whether you run it from 100% to 0% and then charge it, or let it run from 100% to 50% twice charging it in between, that is still only one charge cycle. What that means is that after 500 full charge cycles, the battery will still be operating, but may only have the ability to provide 80% of what it did originally. We hope that helps!

Q: QuestionCan these be used with iPod, Android or Windows?Im a rare bird here, I have a iPod for my music I have a Nexus 7 tablet which runs Android and a Nokia Lumia 1020 phone which runs WP8 OS. My question is can I listen to all of these devices with just one pair of these headphones or do I have to buy the iPod/Phone/Pad for that and the Android/Windows ones to work with those?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thanks for your question. If you plan to use a mix of Apple and Non-Apple devices, the standard QC20 headphones would be your best choice for a single headset to work with everything. The QC20i is designed with exclusive volume controls for Apple products and it may or may not work correctly on Android, windows or other mobile devices. The QC20 would have no problem working with your Apple devices also, however.

Q: QuestionUse while charging?Would it do any harm to the battery or electronics to use them while charging?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Great question! The QC20/QC20i headset can be used safely while the battery is charging. You may get some noticeable background noise if you attempt to play audio from the same computer you are currently charging from, but this not harmful to the headphones. Because this noise is undesirable, we do not suggest charging from the same device you are currently using to listen. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionQC 20 - Android or Samsung versionI see that there's a QC 20 version for "Samsung Galaxy Devices" which is $299 and a QC 20 version for "Android, Windows, and Blackberry", which is $249.99. People commented under the reviews for the Android, Windows, and Blackberry version that it has full functionality with the Galaxy Note. if this is true, what is the difference and what would be the reason to pay the extra $50?
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer The QC20 version for "Samsung Galaxy Devices" is the series II version of our noise cancelling in-ear headphones whereas the QC 20 version for "Android, Windows, and Blackberry" would be the series I of this model. This would go some way to explaining the difference in price as one product is the "previous" version of the headphones. Another significant difference between the series I and series II headphones is the addition of an inline mic and remote in the latest version allowing the user to control various functions of compatible Samsung Galaxy devices. The previous version has an answer/end button and mic only. With regards to the reported incidents of some handsets having full functionality with the older version, we simply could not guarantee this level of functionality with all Android, Windows and Blackberry handsets due to the difference between different models. However it is possible that some of the functionality of the inline mic and remote would work on a handset that is not officially supported. We hope this helps - Bose Support.
