Great CPU Cooler for the money

I bought this for a new gaming system I was building, I looked into water cooling, however I am not a heavy over clocker so I went this route. With the Antec Eleven hundred case, I figured this would be overkill for simple or light overclocking, I was right. For the last 45 days no matter how much I tax my system the CPU temp runs around 11 to 13 Celsius. I tried editing and burning Blu-ray home videos in Nero, while playing a video and ran around online in Guild Wars 2, and had several websites open, the CPU got up to 15 Celsius for maybe a minute before going back down. I reviewed a few videos on how to install this before going for it myself, just to make sure, it looked simple enough. I found out it is possible to turn the huge heat sink in a different direction prior to installing, as long as you pay attention to where the pin on the base connects to the bracket, you may have to adjust it a few times and re-insert it before mounting it to the CPU. You want it right before then, so you have little to no movement while tightening the screws, that way you do not ruin the application of the thermal paste between it and the CPU. I have it pointing the exhaust out the back of my case, with the fan closest to my Ram slightly raised to avoid the heat sinks on them, yes you could move the fan to the other side to pull air instead of push it, it is not that hard to adjust the mounting bracket to do this. It also comes with a mounting kit to add a second fan for a push pull configuration and instructions on how do all the different options. I think it should of came with the second fan, however it does a great job for the price, this is why I rated features 4 instead of 5. I recommend you make sure it will fit inside your case before buying, I checked out Antec's website, Cooler Master's website, and a few forum build websites making sure others have built using the same parts to be safe first. I could only use 1 of the 2 120mm side fans on my case because of the slightly raised fan on the Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO, I do not feel like moving it right now, and it works great the way it is.

displaces heat really well. it's huge, so make sure you got the space in your case to fit it. i chose to get it here at best buy instead of online (where it was slightly cheaper) because of the size issue. this way, if it didn't fit, i could return it w/out having to pay for return shipping or a restocking fee. it ended up fitting with about 2mm to spare. one star was knocked off because of the installation process. the directions are largely garbage and fastening the screws tight enough is basically guesswork. not tight enough and your cooler won't be securely in place; too tight and you'll warp your motherboard and possibly ruin it. there's springs on the screws, so you have to press down harder than i felt comfortable doing. in the end, i recommend it, as it does the job of cooling my amd 860k.

Bought this cooler to replace the AMD stock cooler for FX 8350. This keeps it much cooler with temperatures as low as 19c and high of 68c. This was pretty hard to install for me although it was my first time installing an aftermarket cooler. This could also be due to poor installation guide. You will need to have low profile ram without large heat spreaders or else you wont be able to install the cooler. I used 16 GB Corsair XMS3 (2x8GB) without issues. Only problem is if I want to add more ram I would have to uninstall the cooler to do so. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. This cooler prevents my system from automatically shutting down (due to heat) unlike the stock fan that came with my processor.

The cooler is top notch, i had a stock cooler on my intel haswell i5 processor and the temps were reaching around 80c when playing GTAV. With this it stays around 40-45. Thats good. Now the instructions were awful. I didnt even use them because its JUST PICTURES, no words. I looked up an awesome Youtube video that showed step-by-step on how to do it and it was great. Just look up Evo Cooler Master and your case and theres probably a video on it.

This fan works amazing in my system. I just wish I measured first, as I had to make a few holes in my case door in order to use it and would have planned better. (The little copper tube tips protruded farther than my case door.) I believe total height is 6.3 inches. It was worth making the holes in case! Instructions are fairly easy with images to show how to mount to various CPUs. Contains all adapter parts. You have to remove board to swap out adapter plate, if you are retrofitting an existing system Make sure you want to cut your PC up a bit, or get the next smaller Cooler Master fan.

The fan bearing started to fail 5 months into the 2 year warranty. They won't replace my fan. They offered for me to ship the product back to them myself. Oh really thanks. Let me ship the $6 dollar fan back to you, while I wait with no computer to use. Thanks Coolermaster, now I know never to buy from you again! Next time just send the $6 dollar fan to you customers. Buy a better brand with better customer service. Corsair would send a fan no questions asked and probably would so many other companies. It's standard policy in 2015.

Bought this for my home computer that had been running a little hot with the factory i7 cpu cooler. Installing required taking out motherboard but that wasn't an issue (if you know how). The instructions were not very good but You tube has plenty of how-to videos for it. After install the results were pretty impressive, averaging 20+ degrees cooler even while running several games. Certainly fixed the heat issue! Highly recommend this cooler for non-overclocked computers!
