Great Watch for Fitness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried out many fitness bands in the past and I love my Vivoactive. It has many smart watch features and it really motivates me to get out and exercise. The GPS is fast to lock on (usually within a couple of seconds) and is very accurate. Battery life is amazing and I usually get a week and a half to 2 weeks on a charge. The watch is really comfortable to wear for long stretches of time because it is really light. It can easily be worn in professional settings without standing out. My only issue with the watch centers around the firmware on the watch itself (Garmin is improving this with each software update). The OS can be a little laggy when switching between screens and the watch sometimes has issues pairing with my iPhone 6+. After reading some online reviews I noticed some people online complaining about the watch screen can be a little hard to see in low light with the stock black background. I use the white clock background to make it easier to see in low light. You can change this under the clock settings.

Teaser
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know it's not an Apple Watch, but this watch is so nice that it makes me want one. The kicker for me though is that the Apple Watch is not waterproof and costs twice as much and does not have built in gps, that was the final determining factors for me and my life-style, this one fits just right. Loving it so far. Happy shopping. Tried to get my wife talked into one but she thinks it is too big for her, wishes they had a woman's size.

Best active watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Samsung that broke twice in 5 months, was not water proof and fragile. The Garmin is more durable and is completely water proof. The step and sleep tracking are great.

Best all around sport activity watch I've seen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Garmin Vivo Active. It records my activities whether walking, hiking, running, cycling or swimming. When I'm done I download to my iPhone and get a detailed record of my activity details.

Great so far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only had this for four days so far and it's working great. The screen is very clear and easy to read even without the backlight. The apps are very easy to upload to the Garmin and to remove. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because it continues to fail in the system update due to lack of space. However, I have not plugged it into a computer to follow the help instructions yet.

Great smart watch and easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have a Fitbit but it doesn't even compare to thus Garmin. Out if the box it is extremely user friendly and takes no time to setup. It's great to be able to see whose calling or your emails without having to pull out your phone.

Worth what I paid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish it had more features. Face is smallish. It has not synced as well as it should. It was a good deal. I am hoping to dive deeper into the manual to figure this thing out.

Q: QuestionGPS- can track location of person wearing?GPS- can track location of person wearing?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I'm not sure if you're asking if a third party can track the location of the wearer or if the watch can track the GPS location of the wear while in use. I can say that it can and does track my walks/hikes/rides.

Q: QuestionMusic? Is the vivoactive able to store music? If so approximately how many songs? Or does it stream music through an app?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Music is played thru your phone's app. I use Google Music, Spotify, and Pandora. The watch, when paired to your phone thru the Garmin Connect app will skip songs, repeat songs, pause/stop songs, volume control....like a remote control.

Q: QuestionWhere is the port to charge the garmin vivoactive smartwatch?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Mike, the vívoactive comes with a Charging Data Cradle which clips on the back of the unit. The cord itself is USB, therefore you can connect it to the computer via USB or use a Garmin AC adapter to connect to the wall. Best regards. ~QKO

Q: QuestionWhere can you buy replacement straps? The strap it comes with is too large for my wrist.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Currently, the strap for the vívoactive is available in one size. Third party strap use is not recommended or supported by Garmin. At your discretion, should you choose to use a third party band, please ensure proper fitment as to not lose or damage your vívoactive. ^DK

Q: QuestionDo you actually need the phone to be paired to this product to use the GPS? Its kind of a pain to carry your phone while running. I like to see how much distance I have travelled and time taken and not have to carry my phone with me.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer What I have found is the watch is very dependent on communications with the phone. If you have not sync'd in a day and try to use the GPS it behaves unreliably. I have found that I need to sync before I use the GPS, and if I have not recently sync'd, (a day or more) sometimes this requires me to reboot the watch. I have never used the watch and had to run with my phone; the GPS has worked perfectly every time as long as you have sync'd within a reasonable amount of time.

Q: QuestionHow does the golf app work
Asked by Arnold.
- A:Answer Just download the course details to your phone through the mobile app. When you open the golf function on the watch it will ask to confirm the course you are at. There is a built in score card and you can track your shot distances with the touch of a button. It is actually quite easy, I had it down after the first two holes.
