Damages hard floors. Please be aware!
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5This vacuum got some stellar reviews. I mean, just look at the 5 star ratings. That's why I decided to purchase this unit. I am not a disgruntled person posting a negative review for the heck of it. I got this machine home and it damaged my hardwood floors right out of the box. I'm not posting this review about the motor, the suction power or overall performance. This review is only for people that are buying this unit to use on hard wood or tile floors. The bottom of the unit has two sturdy rubber wheels, but there are also two small hard plastic wheels on the under side. they rake across the floor when the unit is in use. Not only that, but the only thing keeping the whole thing from dragging directly onto the floor are teeny, tiny little bristles on the border of the unit. These might as well be for decoration. You can literally hear the dragging plastic across the floor when you roll it. This is a real issue. It scratched my wood floors, and I just paid over 18k for them. I'm posting this review for people with hard floors. If you do go ahead and purchase this machine, please inspect the bottom of your vacuum before you use it. You'll see and hear what I'm talking about. I did not get a lemon, this is a design flaw that can really cause damage. I've posted a photo in the customer photos section of this item, so that you can see what I'm talking about. I'm contacting Hoover to see if they'll pay for my damaged floor, but I doubt I'll have any luck. If you're just using this for carpet, you'll probably be fine. Be careful otherwise. Happy shopping.

Wow! Better than the expensive Dyson Stick-vacs!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Wow. What a great purchase, for the price it was. It was instantly evident while assembling that the components-quality weren't "skimped" on; things felt sturdy and snapped into places with a satisfying snap that doesn't feel cheap. This is comparing my experience with one of the super-expensive Dyson stick vacuums--I found it literally offensive how cheap and plasticy that thing feels and after a $300 price tag! This Hoover Linx is super light-weight, but doesn't feel to be as a result of shortcuts in the manufacturing process and materials used. And the included rechargeable Li-ion battery life is absolutely amazing. Especially compared to that same Dyson one.

Hoover-Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Excellent vacuum. I have two. I have one for my home and one for my beach house. I gave one to my son-in-law for Christmas because, he loved my it so much. After I made the on-line purchase, I went back on-line for find an extra battery for it. I saw that Best Buy had put the vacuum on sale. I went over to the store and presented my paperwork. They could not have been more accommodating. They credited my purchase and actually it gave me enough money to buy the battery.

Good cordless vacuum!
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5The hoover cordless vacuum is a Good little unit. I had one for the last 8 years. They only last about 2 years for me. But I use it almost every other day. So it’s a good idea to get a warranty. The battery last about 15 minutes. It’s great for doing a quick pick up of hair and dirt. I usually use it before I use my regular vacuum. It will pick up most of the top hair from my cats and some dirt dust. It helps my regular vacuum bag not to fill up as fast. I was lucky and found it on sale for $99 after I bought it for $150. So I went back and got $50 credit. It’s Worth giving it a try.

Awesome
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I love this vacuum. It works on hard floors, small rugs, and carpet- and it’s cordless! The only negative is that the charger does not always charge properly. I reset it once with guidance from Hoover customer service, and now I just unplug it and plug it back in every time I use it which seems to do the trick. I really hope the vacuum itself keeps functioning because it is the best.

Great Vac
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The Linx has a removable battery pack that is much more convenient to use than some of the other cordless vacs. The battery is easy to charge and stays charged for what seems like a long time. The vac does a good job of picking up dirt and dog hair. It does better when you vacuum slowly over rugs - but it does the job. Great vac for the price.

Great, small & lightweight
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Works great. Very light, compact and easy to use. Just keep it nearby, clean up quickly anything you see on your carpet or floor or do a few rooms. Charge lasts ample time, at least about 15-25 minutes depending on if you have the brushes on or not. Purchased on sale and well worth it, about $90.

Q: QuestionHow does the Hoover Linx Cordless work on hardware floors picking up dog fur?
Asked by Peanut.
- A:Answer I have tile, not hardwood, but suspect it would work similarly. I purchased this vac specifically for dog hair and I LOVE it. I usually use the low power setting that doesn't activate the brush roller and hair sometimes clusters up there. I then push it briefly on the carpet to dislodge the hair and turn on the rollers and it picks it right up. Best purchase I've ever made for dog hair.

Q: QuestionHow well does this work on carpet?
Asked by spice.
- A:Answer For my carpet it does a pretty decent job, decent suction combined with a powered roller brush. Not sure if it has enough suction for rugs, esp. the deep pile type.

Q: QuestionWhat does an extra battery cost? What is the battery replacement part number?
Asked by Ron.
- A:Answer Battery is expensive but if you register with Hoover, they will replace battery or charger if found to be defective. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy new vacuum on sale, if Hoover can't replace battery.
