Good value, quiet, satisfactory construction
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, we are satisfied with this dishwasher. It does a good job of cleaning dishes. It is very quiet. Its design is well conceived. Its construction is good enough to be called satisfactory. The bin is roomy. The dishwasher arrived with the rail for the top rack not fastened to the stainless steel wall of the dishwasher. We popped that in, and it seems okay. Let's talk about the top rack. It is designed to hold 16 sets of silverware, placed on edge. The rack can be arranged in four different configurations. We have been using it to clean cutlery and other cooking utensils, which must lay flat. There is no cleaning arm for this section, so the water comes from below. We have figured out we need to thoroughly rinse these items or they don't get clean. The rack almost seems seems flimsy, and it does not slide in and out smoothly. However, it is "good enough", and we like the idea of it. I have attached a photo. The other two racks, which include a conventional silverware bin, are fine. The bottom includes lots of closely spaced tines, and some can be folded down. We are still getting used to the control panel, which is hidden from view when the dishwasher is closed. It uses "touch capacitance" instead of a pressure pad, similar to your phone. It is very sensitive, and we had to get used to not accidentally touching the wrong buttons. On the right side, there is a mystery display panel. It shows codes, and/or time to delay starting the dishwasher (you can load dishes and tell the machine to start as much as 24 hours later-nice!) I wish there would be a table in the manual to tell me what all these codes mean. It is very easy to program this machine. Another cool feature is the lighting!! The bin is amply supplied with blue LED lighting. I have attached a fuzzy photo that shows you how it lights up. And the LEDs do not stop there. When the dishwasher is running, a blue LED shines on the floor. There are no lights or controls visible on the front door; only the handle. Now, for the warning. This dishwasher sits flush on the floor. My previous dishwashers sat on legs, and the plumbing and electrical ran under them. On this dishwasher, there are two channels built into a plastic base. Upon installation, the Geek Squad had to leave with the dishwasher uninstalled, because they did not have the legal wherewithal to cut and shorten the existing copper pipe and attach a compression fitting. Best Buy credited my installation fee, but I had to call my plumber to complete the installation. There are leveling legs, but if you are retrofitting an old dishwasher, you probably have my situation. Arrange for Best Buy "Professional" (not Geek Squad), or call your plumber. One more thing, I purchased the Best Buy installation kit. It is a necessity. In the old days, all the stuff in there would have been included with the dishwasher, so make sure you include the $30 cost of the kit in your overall price. I am a conservative ratings person. If something is going to get five stars, it must be perfect. The top rack cleaning leaves a little bit to be desired, along with the manufacturing defect, and the inability to easily install takes this down to four stars. Nevertheless, I believe this dishwasher is a good value, and I would recommend it.

Arrived with factory damage...twice!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first machine had no packaging damage on the outside. There were dents on the inside of the door and the right side of the frame and a dent outside but no box damage. The machine was replaced with an identical model. It also had similar dents inside on the right frame and door but no delivery damages. These machines should never have left the factory to be sold as new. The racks also felt flimsy and delicate to use. The first machine came on in the middle of the night without us setting anything. Too many electronic controls.

Good Replacement Dishwasher
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this dishwasher because my old one was wearing out. I researched brands and really wanted the top rack. The price was reasonable and I wanted the stainless steel finish. The service provided at the Annapolis, MD store was excellent. Pros: large capacity; quiet; top rack; great look Cons: when the door is open and you walk by too closely, you probably will tap the setting buttons; still working with choosing the correct cycle so that dishes get completely clean; even with the rinse aid, dishes are still wet at end of cycle so I have to dry them before putting them away.

Quiet unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit runs well, cleans very well. My only issue is that the power setting buttons are located on the top of the door panel and is prone to collecting water which causes an error code that cannot be cleared without throwing the circuit breaker and resetting the unit. This has happened 5x in 4 months.

Dishwasher
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this model as a result if model with handel being out of stock. I am happy with it. The hidden control panel is a little funky and can be hard to tell if it is set ti proper setting. But overall it does do a good job ob the dishes.

Love the internal light!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great overall, just wish the bottom plate was more aesthetic, as you can see the floor instead of chrome or plate from outside bottom of the washer. Many functions though; love the internal light:)

Does the job
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the dishwasher because nothing else came close to the features it has in it's price range. I do have two complaints though. First the specs said it has a hard food disposer; it does not, just a strainer. Second, I find soap on the door after a full wash which leads me to believe it is not working as well as it should

Q: QuestionHow on earth do I reset an error code ?? I have an E9 code that I cannot reset, and I now have to wait 4 hours for a tech to show up and "fix" it. There MUST be an easier way.
Asked by BRANDI.
- A:Answer The E9 code typically develops due to water coming in contact with the top control panel. This happened less when I started using the liquid jet dry to aid in dish drying. If the code comes on it will sometimes correct on it's own as you keep the door closed. If that does not correct it then the sure fire way to reset it is to turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off and back on. Now if you are pluged in instead of hard wired you might just be able to unplug the dishwasher and plug it back in. Hope that helps.

Q: QuestionHow do I clear error E9. I tried holding down the clear button for 3 sec. this does not work. I also tried pressing other buttons does not work.
Asked by Jar1.
- A:Answer Not sure what caused it but mine just did the same. I reset power to it and it cleared and is running. I had to reset power at the breaker.

Q: QuestionThinking of buying this one. How is the sound and any serious issues with it?
Asked by Cardsfan.
- A:Answer Do not buy this dishwasher! It is a new product that, judging by the unit we have, is of poor quality. Our unit is 2 months old and does not drain. However, because it's so new the repair parts are not available until September. Best Buy has done nothing to correct this to-date (have yet to receive a return call from a manager, supervisor, or hear from anyone in "customer service") and we have been without a working dishwasher for almost a month. I will never buy an appliance from Best Buy again.

Q: QuestionI can't turn off the control panel. Ran my first wash just fine, but the control panel won't stop blinking. Hitting the Start/Cancel button doesn't work. I just want to turn in off. And $29.99 install kit hose was too short.
Asked by pdymjewel.
- A:Answer It’s always on. We close the door and the control panel is under the counter and you don’t see the light. It’s ready for another load. Just load it, press start and close.

Q: QuestionI would like to turn off the LED screen. I have 2 straight lines on the screen that are always on.
Asked by Mel.
- A:Answer The good news... You have 2 straight lines on the screen. The bad news... You can't turn them off. 2 lines means that the system is "off". However, the Touch Pad on the top strip of the door is very sensitive and you'll find that you'll have other codes flashing all the time, if you accidentally touch the strip while opening/closing the door. It's very annoying, to say the least!

Q: QuestionWe just bought this dishwasher, my problem is that the dishes will not dry. Ive used it 3 times so far and the inside of the machine stays wet, the door and all the dishes have condensation on them.Using normal wash and heat dry with jet dry . HELP !!
Asked by TEAMMARINO.
- A:Answer I had the same problem. I added Jet dry and now my dishes, glasses and silverware are dry and extremely clean with every wash. The Jet Dry made all the difference.

Q: Questionis the front of this dishwasher "finished"? I.e does it require a kitchen panel to go on the front or just the plinth or neither? can you switch off the led lights if desired? does it dry the dishes well?
Asked by daniel.
- A:Answer Yes,the front of the dishwasher is finished. As for the led lights -there is an issue with the E9 warning light that comes on intermittently at random. The E9 light is malfunctioning and will not go off and the only way I can get the dishwasher to start when this happens is to throw the breaker switch. The Geek Tech has been diligently working to fix this, but the problem is in trying to get a replacement part from INSIGNIA. Apparently the part has been on back order for quite some time. Again, the replacement part was supposed to arrive this week and has not. Seems like INSIGNIA could do better. To answer your question about drying - it dries fine except for plastic. But the problem with the led is a major pain!!!!!
Answered by Linnie
Q: QuestionIt says the installation kit is included. But then the web site says I need to purchase the kit for $29.99. Can anyone confirm that this unit comes with a kit? (Hot Water Hose and Electric Cord and so on)
Asked by Mateo.
- A:Answer It does not. Additional comments - washer cleans great and runs quiet, but the controls are unnecessarily cumbersome, to the point of me considering returning it, but the 2 week window has already expired. I leaned my leg against the buttons (on top of door, so sticking into room when open) and froze the dishwasher because buttons had been pushed for too long. I have to reset the circuit breaker because my leg was against the door. It is also confusing to determine when it is running or not if you open it mid cycle. Good dishwasher, just would suggest Insignia do better on the controls.
