The E9 code typically develops due to water coming in contact with the top control panel. This happened less when I started using the liquid jet dry to aid in dish drying. If the code comes on it will sometimes correct on it's own as you keep the door closed. If that does not correct it then the sure fire way to reset it is to turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off and back on. Now if you are pluged in instead of hard wired you might just be able to unplug the dishwasher and plug it back in. Hope that helps.
