Wanted to add an amp, but had an old 98 lexus stereo, since i was on a budget instead of getting a new stereo and then adding the amp, i just went ahead and had bestbuy add the line level controller, effect: able to use stock radio and now have an amp installed. pro: system now has bass and it booms down the road and the stock speakers (front and rear) sound great and are plenty loud to keep up with the alpine mono amp and 10" Alpine type r in the trunk. Happy, Happy!

Works good if you want a fast way to add subs and an amp to a factory stereo. I tapped into my rear speaker wires in my Dodge Ram quad cab and had an amp with a remote gain knob that I have up front wedged in between my seats, so it is easy to adjust the subs level depending on what your listening to. It's not the most ideal setup, but if you have everything laying around and don't feel like dropping a couple hundred on a new head unit, you will get your bass fix.

These non powered output converters are just not very good sound quality. if your options are limited as mine were for replacing a factory radio then I suggest you pay just a little more and get a real line driver or processor like a rockford fosgate 3sixty.3 or the audison bit one. I went with the 3sixty and the difference was HUGE with a 200x4 watt amp. on the lower price end of line drivers you are still WAY better off with a Hifonics Bxi Pro 1.0 for around $75

Original issue was that my surround sound amplifier does not have low level RCA outputs for use on my Insignia sound bar. Connecting the speaker level outputs from the amp directly to the sound bar resulted in no output from the sound bar. Connecting the Metra Line Output Converter in series, allowed the sound bar to process the speaker level outputs from the amp. It was an easy installation and the adjustable gain a very usable feature.

Decided to try a DIY installation with my son in his BMW. Another car stereo place laughed when I told him it was a BMW. Probably would have struggled but the Best Buy tech gave me some free pointers on how to connect everything up. The gear sounds great. The install was pretty easy after a little homework on the Internet. Now I'm the cool dad! The tech pointed out I only needed to use two of the output wires.

I wasn't too experienced at installing something like this because you have to tap into your stock wires from your deck. All I did was cut and splice all of the wires and that was it, it worked. (P.S. you need to know what wires go to what or you will be confused) I used this to power my 2 12" MTX Terminator's and it works great.

Fixed Audi Low Rear Speaker Issue

      Posted
      Trevor

I installed an aftermarket stereo in my '02 Audi A4 and had the common low rear speaker sound issue. After searching a few forums, I came across someone recommending this as a fix. I went for it, hoping to avoid having to buy the $100 harness that is made for that particular issue. I'm glad I did because this converter worked perfectly!!! I can't say enough about this product!

I bought these for the simple reason I couldn't put my subs into my car without RCA jacks. I was a little skeptical about splicing into my cars original door speaker wires. After having it hooked up I can definitely recommend these to anyone wanting subs in your car without swapping out a radio. Work just as good and way cheaper then a new radio.
