Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 - 13.5" Touch-Screen - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB Solid State Drive
The Surface Laptop 3 is very light, appears to be sturdy and is a solid product overall. There are a few irritating features. One is the power cord which is EXTREMELY short which requires me to drag along an extension cord everywhere. Another dysfunctional aspect is the unuseful placement of the Home, End, PgUp and PgDn buttons. Those keys should be near the arrows and their placement is so bad, they are not used. I am used to using these keys often. I also need to learn how to increase the font size in certain programs, such as Quickbooks that has many unreadable screens (looks like 3-4 size font). I have been using Quickbooks since 1999 and laptops since 1996. These characteristics are irritating. Having only one regular USB port and one USB-C port means that I have to drag around a multi-port adapter. While these are irritations, I have been getting used to them in the 3 weeks I have owned this laptop on which I work 10 hours each day minimum.
Thank you for taking the time to share your honest experience with the community about your Surface Laptop 3. We're delighted to hear that you enjoy using this lightweight powerhouse for work. We appreciate your feedback about the power cord length as well as the keyboard layout and will be passing it along to our team.

I finally bought a new laptop...
Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.
I love the laptop but it’s too early to be seeing issues. When it overheats, the text on the screen gets jumpy and starts moving, and I’ve had to uninstall the Intel Wi-Fi driver because it wasn’t working and I wasn’t allowed to connect to my Wi-Fi. Other than that it’s fast and does everything I needed to do. I just hope it doesn’t give me any other problems and it last for a long time. I do enjoy how sturdy the frame is and it’s a good size for me.
Shipping took longer than expected. When it arrived, there was no booklet on how to operate it. Not even a card saying a link to the handbook for how to operate it. I got logged in. My info came up. I opened a book to check it out. I loaded part two of the series by accident, so I tried to go back to my home screen and load part one but I couldn't get out of the book. I can't get back to my home screen. I can't even adjust the brightness if I have a book loaded. I pulled up from the bottom, and all I got was a menu of the book chapters. I hit the back button but it wouldn't go back any further than the book cover. I went to the end, it only went to the review page. There are only three buttons on the thing: forward, backward, and power. None got me back. I finally held the power button until I could restart it. That took me back to the home screen but I shouldn't have to reboot every time I want to escape a book. I tried calling Best Buy. After 45 minutes of being on hold and hung-up on, I had to schedule a Geek Squad appt. I tried Googling it and watching YouTube videos. I shouldn't have to. My appt, is next week.
I ordered online after reviewing several computers. I decided on the laptop I ordered due to the additional $300 discount on this color. Color does not matter to me so I ordered it online and picked it up at the store. It was very easy to pickup. I prefer to pickup at the store as I do not trust the mail. It was a very good experience.
Already had a surface pro and a surface laptop 2 previously. This time I went for the i7 and this laptop is certainly a screamer. Rarely gets hot, good thermals. Not a gaming machine but I know that going into it.
We're glad that Surface Laptop 3 has the power and cool operation necessary to meet your needs. Thank you for sharing your experience with it; we hope you enjoy using your new Surface.

Loved my first Surface to much that I upgraded!
Owned for 1 month when reviewed.
I got my first MS Surface Laptop in 2016 and loved it so much that when I need a newer computer with faster speed and more storage (because my computer usage changed a lot between 2017 and 2020), I immediately wanted another Surface with upgraded features to meet my current needs.

A:AnswerCorrect, it does NOT have an HDMI port. A docking station will have to be utilized for an HDMI or any additional port necessary. Only comes available with two USB ports (1- type A and 1- type C). Suggest the “J5create USBC-type C Triple Display Docking Station” (Model JCD543), currently valued at $100. This would be the best and most economical method for use of an HDMI port.
