A: If it is a laptop and it can take a hard drive then yes an laptop can take an ssd. It does not matter what year it is or brand. One thing I should note is you will have to research and find to see if the ssd you want has Mac support with copying your data from your old HD to your ssd. If you save your important work to a USB then you don't need to transfer it you can just install the is to your ssd and away you go to use it. I say install the os to your ssd because it is easier that way and also you don't have to know how to clone software and worry about Mac not supporting it. unless you are a huge techy and know what you are doing then install clone and transfer your important files and stuff to your ssd via inlrast one program I heard works free to download and use or so people claim. Bottom line buy an ssd and install the is to it via CD or USB and amy windows version and mac and then wala that easy. Key word remember install is via your Mac version like how there is windows 7,8,10 and so forth and it won't care if you are using a Mac an ssd only needs a operating system to use, I use windows 10 with my ssd and I even have an ssd in my ps3 which got rid of any lag games like tales of graces f when I enterened combat sometimes.
