It took them three weeks to return my money and I realized later that it wasn’t in my original form of payment ( to my credit card). I received a Best Buy gift card in the mail. I was upset to say the least as chat customer service said it would be returned to my card

If you're referring to a different product that has one of our Accidental Geek Squad Protection plans, that wouldn't be able to cover damage to a TV as it's a separate product. I hope this helps. A:AnswerI would suggest that you get with the sales persin who sold the plan to you to find out how to cancel the the plan. You might also ask somebody from the Geek squad. Hope this helps you.

A:AnswerIncorrect. If you purchase a protection plan on an open boxed item and you need repaor or replacement.... If they deem the item needing to be replaced they will deny you a replacement and advise yku to buy the newer product and they refund that original amount you paid for the open box item. Making it pointless in having purchased the open box item or protection plan to begin with.
I purchased an open box tv not even a year ago. Was sold a prptection plan and told the same protection applies to this tv as it would a new one. Fast forward to now, my tv has lines going through the picture & only getting worse. They no longer make my tv and offered to exchange it free to the upgraded version. Great. Nope. Not great!
They said because my item was an open box item I got at a discounted price, if I wanted the replacement I had to PURCHASE the new tv & theu would simply refund the original amount I paid for the discounted tv. Which defeats the entire purpose of me buying the discounted open box item all together if I have to buy a new tv anyways. I got a deal on a tv for them to basically say I now have to buy my replacement at a small discounted rate.
Never again will I buy a protection plan from Best Buy, nor a tv. Buyer beware. They will lie to you to get you to buy open box items without disclosing to you that these open box items if they make new versions of it will cost you more out of pocket if your item breaks to have replaced.

Accidental Geek Squad Protection covers a specific product that it's bought with like a laptop, gaming accessory, etc. This covers the hardware on that unit in case something was to happen. Total Tech Support on the other hand is more for the support side. This covers an unlimited number of computers for support like data transfers, diagnostics and troubleshooting, trainings, etc. It will also heavily discount in-home services and cover vehicle installations.
