The short answer is that this is a Chromebook and not a standard laptop, so installing Windows is NOT possible. More technically speaking, the BIOS is incompatible with what you'd find on a standard Windows machine, so even starting the install process requires custom firmware and potentially other low level software modifications. That doesn't account for the fact that the SSD is only 16GB and Windows 7, 8 or 10 would use nearly all of that for the install alone. All of that said, if you were just really bored, you could theoretically: 1. Open the machine and upgrade the SSD (voiding your warranty). 2. Install Linux in a chroot environment using something like crouton. 3. Load up some Virtual Machine software such as VirtualBox. 4. Install and run Windows (badly) in a heavily emulated environment. Chromebooks, in general, are built for running ChromeOS (and Linux, if you're a tinkerer). You're likely to have nothing but headaches and disappointment if you try to use them outside of those confines. Hope that helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is probably coming way too late for you. The advantage of Chrome Books is there is nothing to download since it has no hard drive. Everything is done in ram and the operating system and such is in the clouds. I can still go to Internet Explorer and access my outlook email and it syncs with my Win 10 laptop. So far, I love the system, so much easier and simpler, and no crashes. I still load my pictures on my hard drive with Win 10 and then upload them to google photos in the cloud to access on my chrome book. Using the chrome book for most of everything else.
