No, the unit is to be used by the likes of Qwest, and it is a DSL Modem and wireless router all in one. You need a Cable Modem, and I would suggest the Motorola Surf Cable modem and a Linksys or Netgear wireless router. You can also purchase a Cable Gateway which is a combination of a cable modem and wireless router, they can be a little pricey. I also have Comcast and use the the Arris Cable Modem and the Nighthawk 3200AC router, both are on the high end of equipment.

I'm currently using this modem with Comcast service and I'm having no issues with it.
