The alpine 309 has an external microphone included in the package. Don’t know if it’s required for voice command. The 309 is an hands free device and support my factory controls for the steering wheel. Voice command is actually better than the factory setting. Climate controls and back up camera work on the alpine unit. I have a 2015 Dodge Durango. Hope this help.
