• No you can’t connect on the phone but if you get them a device you can drop in on them

• Hi Tex In order to Video chat the other person would need to have the Alexa application installed on their phone. You can call any phone number (with the exception of 9-1-1) from your Echo Show, including your in-laws but to utilize the video functionality they would need to have another screened echo device (Echo Show, Show 8 or Show 5), a smart phone or a tablet (with the Alexa app downloaded).
