Hello Jerry, If you are talking reading only and Kindles, the newest Amazon Kindle is the Kindle Paperwhite 5th generation released on 10/27/21. Since you are referencing the HD 8, I am guessing you utilize your device for more than reading so, I would look at the newest HD 10. The Fire HD 10 tablet or Fire 10.1 are the latest models. The vibrant screen, 1080p full HD display, and powerful performance thanks to the 3 GB of RAM and octa-core processor. These are great for on the go, enjoy up to 12hrs of reading, browsing the web over wifi, watching videos, and listening to music from anywhere. It's more durable with the strengthened glass too!
