Not if you have iOS 11. Search Apple support and you’ll see that functionality was broken by the update. I bought this adapter to do exactly what you want you are talking about and I’m returning it because it won’t work.

Yes. You can stream directly from Netflix, Amazon, etc. or watch a downloaded program. I have done both with mine.

It will mirror your iPad, whether it’s a downloaded movie or not. Just need to connect it to an HDMI cable and youre set. It also has a lightning cable plug in.
