“I have a IPad (7th generation) will it connect to a monitor? (All i know about the monitor is its by HP and kind of old)”

• This will work with a monitor as long as your monitor can accept an HDMI cable. If you need a different connection like a computer cable, Apple makes those to. Stick with the Apple brand ones because IPad's are finicky and don't always recognize off brands.
