“How new does the TV have to be for this to work? I tried it on my three smart TVs (all 5-7 years old), and it won't work. The TVs don't detect the connection.”

To use the phrase, not the sharpest pencil in the pack, I have noticed since last updates that if I try and use a aftermarket cords or any other aftermarket accessories I have problems. When I use a Apple cord I have no issues. Do not get me wrong I love my Apple products and have no intentions in changing, I know a company has to make money to stay alive As most people know the real money is in the accessories. Most people would be shocked to know how little it cost to make the accessories cost to produce. The only non Apple product I have are the 5 Samsung tv’s . I digress, try and use a true Apple cord.
