The iOS version on your iPhone / iPad doesn't matter. In fact, I just tested this before writing this answer to your question, and I am running iOS version 12.0.1 and viewed it on a HD computer monitor via a HDMI cable. It also does not matter what you are doing (gaming, watching videos [online or offline], viewing your camera, taking a video with your iPhone, etc.) there is no noticeable latency from the iPhone to the monitor. I have attached a photo of this test as I composed this answer. Also, keep in mind that you are able to keep power (for charging iPhone / iPad battery) connected while doing all this via the lightning connector next to the HDMI port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have hooked my iPad up to a tv and a monitor and had no latency problems to speak of.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this adapter back when ios 10 was out, I am currently on the most recent OS with my iphone 7 plus as well, and have not experienced any issues with the change of firmware. When iOS 13 is released, will I have an issue? Maybe, maybe not. But as of the current new firmware, no issues to report. As for the latency, Ive noticed a very small delay between phone to monitor and this hasnt been an issue for me, because ive just been using it to push video and music (netflix, hulu, spotify, etc) to my television. As for first person shooters in an online gaming community, you may be at a disadvantage if depending on your computer monitor with this adapter.
