This isn't a wireless solution. It's a hardware device that you plug this into your phone and it allows you to mirror your phones screen to a monitor or TV. Your phone will continue to operate as normal with your service provider or WiFi, whatever connection you choose to use.

Say if you want to connect your phone to any display device like a monitor/TV/projector, which has an HDMI connection, you can use this. basically it acts like a bridge. Converts your phone lightning connector into HDMI female plug and then a HDMI cable will be connected to this device and the other end of HDMI cable will go into the display device. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't need a hot spot for the adapter to work. I have unlimited data and stream right off my iPhone 6 Plus. Mine also works fine using WiFi. The only service or app I've found that will not work is Hulu. All the others work great.
