“I’ve seen a lot of disclaimers from other merchants that a particular adaptor doesn’t work with Amazon, Netflix, Dirct tv, because of copyright issues. Does this adapter allow viewing?”

Yes, this is currently suported by Netflix, Hulu and many others. If it seems to not be working properly, try an Apple Tv and then just airplay your media through that
