“I bought it for my iPhone 8 and it works fine with most apps but it will not work with Hulu. It will run the Hulu ads but once it gets to the show it’s a black screen with sound.”

That is do to the hulu app I have not found away to make it work with hulu

Please try again later.I'm not positive this is your issue, but I found this on the Apple Discussion forums regarding Netflix using this setup: "The Netflix phone associate I spoke to said Apple enforced DRM in IOS 11, so you can no longer use your TV with an HDMI cable. Apple is robbing from the poor to give to the rich. Apple wants you to use Apple TV to play the videos. This is nonsense." "This is an egregious crime against the user, who only wants to mirror their small IOS screen on a larger screen."
