“I have a new iPad Mini 4, is there a software update available, so a person can download it for the iPad mini 4 ... so it can be used with an Apple Pencil? This Mini 4, is my baby, and I respectfully would not wish to go to a larger size iPad 9.7 or Pro.”

No. You can ONLY use the Apple Pencil with the iPad Pro!

No the Apple Pencil was not designed for the Apple iPad mini. Check Apple’s website for compatibility.

No, the pencil only works with the iPad Pro models and the new 9.7 iPad released in March 2018. This is due to the type of screen hardware needed for the pencil, so software cannot make “regular” iPads work with the pencil.
