No, only iPad Pros or the latest iPad release. It won’t even work on the newest iPads. Apple made a new pencil you have to buy for them. Typical Apple though, I love their products but when they come out with something new they hardly ever make older accessories compatible with their newer products.

No. It is compatible with iPad Pro only. iPad pro has a narrow sense of touch and is designed for school work or office work. Whereas Air has a wider sense of touch and cannot detect narrow items and is design for at home or personal use.
