Yes, you can download music to the watch, so you can listen to music from your watch without needing to bring your phone. The watch has limited memory space, so you probably can’t load all of your songs to the watch. Look for a YouTube video for instructions on how to do this. The series 2 has GPS built in, so no need to bring your phone to track your run, but you’ll need to sync with your phone after the run for tracking data.

Yes now you can with new software update, but need to connect bluetooth speaker device or buds to listen, it seems that you cannot listen to with built in speaker.
When i try to listen to downloaded music it prompts me to add a bluetooth listening device.
