“Will this modem limit capabilities of Airport Extreme? I want to get and Airport Extreme to put downstream of my modem, hoping to get the advantages of the 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology and dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. Does this modem limit the signal such that those features won't help me?”

I have an older Airport Extreme hooked up to it for my WiFi. It works fine once you get it communicating. I initially hooked my computer directly to the modem, got it all up to date and working well, then added the Airport Extreme in. I had to set the Network to DHCP and NAT for an Xbox One. Other than that, it just took some time to get all the settings correct. I used internet discussion pages to do that. All-in-all, it should work fine.
