I would go with a modem-only model. I found this unit to be a let-down in terms of wireless speed and connectivity. In doing further research the 6141 or 6183 models would be a better choice in conjunction with a router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This router's wireless capabilities are not stable, it will keep going up and down on wireless, so better go somewhere else , I would recommend dedicated router only and u will get better speeds, the combo modems & router all of them r not capable of providing stable connection, hope this helps u.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had problems with packet collisions on both the gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi of this model and had to return it. I first noticed problems when recording TV from my HDHomerun tuners connected to my LAN. I then tried transferring some video files to my server and noticed it was taking way to long. I ended up returning it and went back to using my separate cable modem and Wi-Fi router. As far as Wi-Fi in general you want to place the router as close to the center of the house and as high as possible. Make sure there are no metal objects near it that will block the signal. You are also better off using a separate Wi-Fi router versus an all-in-one cable modem/ Wi-Fi router because the all-in-one's tend to have shorter range and are less configurable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your router automatically adjusts communication speed to match the slowest device on the network. With this in mind, as additional devices especially older computers or handheld gaming devices using older protocols connect, the entire network will downgrade itself from 'n' speed to 'b/g' speeds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on where you are downloading from and how many sources are there plus their computer speeds
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The peak speed with wireless will also depend on the device that you use. I noticed that with a laptop computer I had better performance than with a smartphone or tablet. I eventually returned this product because of very similar issues. You could have interference on the wireless (i.e. if you are in a dense area like a city there are a lot of other wireless networks) or it could be a limitation of this product. I switched to a combo of cable modem and wireless router and now I get much better and more reliable speeds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to upgrade you cable provider speed.... They have different speed options for Internet ... I have extreme ... Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would call your service provider. If you are not getting the proper download speed with a direct connection, then there may be an issue. You are going to get a slower wireless connection but you should be getting the full speed when direct wired.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This router has a very small wifi chip in it. The modem itself is capable of higher download and upload rates. But that is dependant of the service being brought to your box from the service provider. It has a very under powered wifi signal. I was only able to get 60 Mbps standing next to it and it quickly drops as soon as you leave the room. Also the device your trying to acess the wifi to test with depending on what band, frequency, and how old the device is will affect your test rates. I used a brand new MacBook air and was sitting next to the router when I received 60 Mbps when test the wifi. I suggest buying a router and hooking it up to this modem and disabling the old wifi on the modem itself
