“Bought this to use Oculus but the app is giving me a "Your computer does no meet Rift's updated minimum specs." I upgraded the ram to 16gb and it's still not working. Odd because the specs listed here seem to be more than sufficient. What should I do?”

Im guessing your limitation is the 4GB of video ram. With VR, you need at least 6GB to run properly. If someone told you at the store that this would run VR, I would return it for that reason and look for an option with a 6GB gpu. You may want to look into a desktop.
