Hi, if you want to read a review that calm you, this is the review. I waited a month to write this review to see if there was a problem, and so far not. I saw a lot of reviews and they are very
exaggerated, in my experience is that you took a laptop that was not handled right or they ordered online and in the trip of the mail, got a lot of hits. I bought it directly on the store, so let;s beggin.
I bought this laptop on black friday week, for $579.99 dllrs, but with tax, the total was around $630 dllrs.
I have had on eye this laptop, I am a Teacher on elementary school, I oftenly use office software to make work, but I also like to play videogames on freetime, and this sits right for me, and the priceeeee, really good.
I'm not the only that is using it, I'm a Teacher in Mexico and the kids are very curious about the new computer that the teacher bring, so too many hands using this laptop, and so far I didn't have a problem.
1. The material: Is plastic, really hard plastic, I always carry this laptop on my briefcase and i'm surprised that the trips to go from class to class or school to school don't mess with it. It's really TUF!
2. The keyboard: If you have hard hammer fingers, be careful! the buttons seems to sink a little bit, so be careful, but if you not, don't worry. The keyboard is really nice, I am writing my thesis and it is smooth to write, is nice that have a numeric pad, because I do a lot of evaluation.
Doesn't sound too much like the click gaming keyboards, it is just fine for me.
The colors on the keyboards are awesome, there is an armory crate software that let you choose color and dynamics, you can turn it off or put low light on it.
3. The touchpad: Some reviews said that is awful, but it is good, smooth with your fingers, only when you click it sound a lot, but it is good, I have had no problems, and if you are having problems, try to reinstall it. But for me, no problem. Recommendation, use a mouse.
4. The speakers: Very good sound, I was expecting more, but it is good playing. The only thing here is when you are playing with turbo performance on gpu, sound a lot, so it is the only problem, not bi, but if you are demanding person, you don't like it.
5. The graphics: A lot of reviews always complain about the 60 hz on screen, but it is right, I don't know where they came out that this laptop has 120 or 144 hz? The videos and movies that I watch on netflix, youtube, etc. are awesome clean and hd screen, not 4k, but I'm not a fool consumer, and it looks nice.
For gaming, very awesome, good and clean graphics, you can use extreme settings and doesn't lag, very good for gaming. Vibrant colors, and it changes when you are working and gaming, very useful.
6. Battery: I always out of home, but I always carry the charger, the battery on a day using it for presentations, videos, microsoft office word, powerpoint, excel, last about 4 hrs, before charging, while playing it last 3 hrs in gpu on performance mode. So when I have freetime in school, I play a while and very good.
7. Proccesor: Really fast, open smooth and quickly my aplications, save really fast my files and open them too very fast, I was concern about the intel i5, because i was looking for an i7, but this is a beast for proccesing!
8. The memory ram: 8gb of ram, I posted a photo showing the ram that is included on this laptop, it is good. But I want it a performance ram, and with the money I have saved I really have the money to upgraded, so I wait it a month, and I Had bought a 16gb Kingston Hyper X, and OMG very fast for proccesing, doesn't lag, and I always have open a lot of windows, don't problem, so if you have the time upgrade the ram. I don't know if this avoid the warranty, I have read the terms, confused of it.
9. The Memory Storage: It has the innovative ssd, the chip PCI-e, very fast, only have 512 gb, the thing is that I have a lot of games so i need more space, and the super advantage is that has a empty ssd slot, so I have bought a WD blue ssd $65 dllrs and install it, so I am very happy, that I can have all my games install it apart from the main ssd.
I post a photo of the open laptop, so you can see what it is inside.
You are thinking, "This guy bought a laptop to instantly upgraded? What a fool!" But of the money that I had saved on the discount, doesn't hurt at my wallet at all.
Other thing if you have low battery, the graphics seems to lag, so check the battery performance. Other thing is that you have to manually install the updates and it is hard working, I hope ASUS solve this issue.
So, I hope you have a nice day, I recommend to buy this laptop, on 579.99 dllrs or on 650 dllrs, that are the discounts that I saw after bought it, so grab the specials!

I bought this laptop a month ago during Black Friday. It ran pretty good, still lagged a little on games but was okay if you played on the lowest settings.
The only problem was that the monitor broke only after a month of use (not from any sort of damage only from me merely opening the laptop)
Still it can be replaced and I will continue using it because I believe it’s a decent laptop, just disappointed that it was damaged so quickly and easily.

So i am upgrading from a 2011 Toshiba 2nd Gen Core i5. so my bar is set pretty low right now all things considered. Nevertheless I consider myself a little tech literate so I was able to raise my expectations by reading some comprehensive tests and reviews from what is available at the present moment (2019-2020). Having that info at hand I was able to narrow down my search (and also having a tight budget on the range of 500-750$). Finally I've picked this laptop with the Black Friday offer at 570$ and I think I was a total steal and the best Q4 2019 online deal on the range of budget gaming laptops below 800$. The specs of this setup put it on par of low 1000's or 900$ machines. I'm not a gamer but I work at home on my own graphic design projects, also do some video editing. The dedicated graphics card is on the mid range for gaming but is more than enough for these tasks I've mentioned, and the 8 threads core i5 9300H processor is bullet fast. Fearing some thermal throttling (which is very common on high TDP-tighly packed laptops with less than ideal cooling solutions) i've downloaded and installed ThrottleStop and I've performed a software controlled stable undervolting to CPU and cache. Due to the “silicon lottery” I recommend to use my values as guidelines but for those interested my undervolt values are (-129mV for both CPU and cache on the plugged to AC profile, and -138mV on both CPU and cache on the battery profile). To check for stability i've performed Passmark 9 suite tests, by the way my laptop clocked a CPU passmark score of 10050 with the undervolt values applied. Cpu temperatures lowered a LOT under 100% load, from a stock high 80-82ºC to 73ºC which is an awesome measurable improvement to internal components, thermal paste, battery life and power consumption. On the battery side, I was able to squeeze 7 hours of battery with the under-volt on light browsing and YouTube watching with the screen dimmed. The boot up time is an amazing 5-8 second from power on to a usable desktop. Keyboard is very comfortable and easy to type on it, back-light is amazing (once resolved the TUF Aura core install issue everyone talks about). I think this laptop has the best power+specs+quality/price ratio of the ASUS TUF line sold by Best Buy this year-end. Highly recommend it for computer nerds, graphic designers and content creators on a budget. You won't be disappointed.

I love this laptop. The design is really cool and it looks way better in person than in photos. The build quality is quite good. The screen is nice and bright for this price point. Remember this laptop DOES NOT come with a 144 Hz screen. Its a 60Hz pannel. The keyboard is very nice. I got used to it pretty quickly. The RGB backlighting looked nice. If you don't like that you can just change its color to white and put it on static mode. I don't like the transparent WASD keys but that's not a huge deal. The touch pad is nice and responsive. The clicking mechanism is nice. But sometimes it doesn't go where I want to but I am pretty sure this is just a driver thing can be easily fixed. The performance is great. I was able to play AC Origins at high setting smoothly. It also runs very cool because of fans located at above the keyboard, at the back and underneath the laptop. You can easily control the speed at which you want the fans to run which is nice. The SSD is fast and boots up the laptop quickly. You don't need to buy extra stuff to install an HDD. It already comes with it. There is a second slot for RAM as well.

This was a steal on Black Friday at $580. Definitely worth it at this price. It runs super fast and has a great RGB keyboard that you can change the colors on. My only complaint is the mouse track pad. It’s not the greatest at all, it seems to be a little loose. I thought it might be just mine with that issue but after reading up on this laptop it seems to come this way with everyone. It’s not a big deal but it’s definitely noticeable. I’ve been using an actual mouse for gaming though so it doesn’t bother me too much.
One thing I love about this laptop is how easy it is to upgrade the RAM and the memory storage. I got my self an 8GB ram to add to it so now it’s 16GB. Very easy and simple to upgrade. Found a YouTube video and did it in less than 10 minutes.
Overall I would definitely recommend this laptop for anyone just getting introduced to pc gaming. Not sure if I’d pay full price for it though but if it’s on sale for $600 or less jump on it!

For my 11 year old who has been wanting a laptop for a few years now.. school work is more and more done on line so having his own laptop was key in his success at school .school provides a little chrome book but just isn’t a good product for his needs. So looking we thought about his next few year at school and he also games so why not... for the price it works well does everything he needs and then some my oldest who is 19 and in college for computer science was impressed by what this laptop had to offer for the price .. his own laptop cost over $2k .anyway graphics are top not sound is pretty good for small speakers and the light up keyboard is a cool factor . Only had it since Xmas but so far it is a pretty impressive little laptop. Great for beginning to advanced gamers . Get a carrying case for sure.

Let me just start by saying that I didn't have the highest expectations for this laptop. There were a lot of reviews floating around saying that this laptop was cheaply built. Let me assure you that there is nothing cheap about this laptop. Yes the body isn't 100% aluminum, but the body is actually quite sturdy and attractive. The body itself that houses the keyboard and the parts is aluminum while the top and back covers are made of high quality plastic. I previously owned an Acer Gaming laptop and the build quality on that was garbage in comparison. This is also noticeably much sturdier and better built than the Dell G3 and HP gaming laptops that Best Buy currently has on sale.
The parts are easily upgradeable by removing the Philips screws on the bottom cover. Fans are a tad noisy while gaming, but keep the whole system below 70c during gaming. The keyboard is backlit and has a nice feel to it. The only con is the trackpad, but who games with a trackpad anyway? Pick yourself up a DeathAdder Elite for $29 and a Corsair/Steelseries mousepad while you're at Best Buy and you're good to go.
The mobile GTX1650 that it sports is on par with a desktop version GTX 970 which is impressive considering it was Nvidia's last gen higher end mainstream desktop card. It isn't as fast as my desktop which uses a GTX 1070, but the GTX1650 is a respectable card. I can run Overwatch maxed without any hiccups and more GPU intensive games such as Far Cry 5 and Witcher 3 at Medium/High settings without any issues. The i5 9300H is also impressive as well and is about the equivalent of an older desktop i7 6700. Still, very impressive at this price point. One thing that was also impressive was the vivid IPS display. Keep in mind that ASUS manufactures excellent IPS gaming monitors. This shines when watching films with vivid colors or nature documentaries. This is surprisingly something that isn't really advertised on here. You can also adjust the color settings to your liking using ASUS' built in program.
Either way, you are getting a huge bargain for the price. I highly recommend this laptop for any gamer on a budget. For those who want to play their games on max settings, however, I would recommend the more expensive ASUS offering that has an i7 9750H and a 1660ti for $899.

I was able to score this laptop for $650 and at that price it is a clear no-brainer. I was a computer tech for over 20 years and I can tell you that ASUS is one of the largest motherboard manufacturers and they typically build the boards for major manufacturers like Dell and HP - so you are essentially buying direct from the manufacturer. The laptop runs World of Warcraft at almost max setting without stuttering. It also runs Sims4 at max settings. The screen is easy to look at and has great color. Of all the laptops with the same specs - and each manufacturer has one - this is the best of the bunch. The fans can get loud but that is typical of any laptop with a graphics card in it - especially one like the 1650.

I bought this laptop to play destiny 2 occasionally on it now since cross save is active. (mainly on PS4) and it handles it pretty well. Now destiny 2 isn't the most intense game but on highest setting, the laptop keeps up. I even connected to an external monitor and played while streaming netflix movie on the lcd screen. No issues. I do recommend buying a 8gb ram to make it 16gig total. The empty slot is there, might as well use it.

I was looking to buy a lotto that was powerful enough for me to edit videos and let me tell you boyyyy I made the right move. Although I wouldn’t use it to edit colors in photos or mess with colors in videos due to It not having the sharpest look when it comes to screen. But all in all this laptop is a great buy. I also use it to play fort nite and this things just runs so flawlessly. Even if you only want to navigate the web and do school work, this thing is lightning fast. I did upgrade my ram from 8 to 16

This laptop is indeed pretty powerful and runs every game at high settings pretty smoothly. With such powerful components in this laptop the temps for the CPUs are usually 90C+ while gaming, therefore I undervolted the CPU using Throttlestop and undervolted the core and cache values to -0.135 mV(might be different from laptop to laptop due to "silicon lottery") and this dropped the temps to 76-78C so definitely would recommend doing this as this did not affect my gaming performance. I was getting 90+ FPS in COD:MW without the undervolt and still got 90+ FPS with the undervolt. Currently, looking up ways to undervolt the GPU to further improve GPU temps. This is to increase the longevity of the laptop components. Do keep in mind the fan will blow like crazy if the laptop is not undervolted as the cooling system is trying its to keep the CPU under the 100C limit, again undervolting helped with these issues.
But definitely a good purchase.

It has an empty slot to add an 2.5” SSD (Recommend a minimum a 1TB), the NVME SSD storage is also removable so you can upgrade from its relatively small 512GB, it has removable RAM so upgrades can come later it has 2 lots but it comes, from factory, with only one stick of 8GB. Overall it is a great laptop for getting in to “portable” gaming. I had no issues with it as stock but with a bit more power from the upgrades it runs much better.

Hello,
Bought it in times of Black Friday so surely that was a good deal.
I like that notebook - I'm going to try video & photo editing with it, but so far I have tried a few games I'm enjoying.
It doing good. It can play games with max settings on full-HD, but I prefer to hide some graphics to maximize my gaming experience. I have tried WorldofTanks and Starcraft2 and enjoyed them a lot on this notebook.
It has small cons, like noise from fans when they work in some speedy mode, but I'm okay with it, I am using headphones which isolate me completely. And it very quite in not resource-demanding tasks like watching a video or browsing the Internet.
Sound is good, but I don't use it much.
The screen is very good, quite a bright, event brighter comparing to my external monitor.
Connectors count is not high, so I need to buy few cables to connect my second monitor and use hub for all the devices, but it is expectable, as it allows it to be quite compact.
So overall, after mostly a month of its usage, I like it a lot and would recommend it to my friends.

As for me it's a cheap monster!
PC Mark 10 score: 4 746 , 3DMark Time Spy score: 3 542, 3DMark Sky Diver score: 22 454.
Converted a 2 hours long 480p DVD video located on a USB 3.0 flash drive which was inserted into a USB 3.0 port to the laptop's SSD in just 11 minutes! Which is 8.64 times faster than doing exactly the same video conversion operation on my previous laptop ASUS k43sd .
Cooling system works effectively, not letting the laptop overheat and keeping keyboard always cool.
Touch pad can become dirty if your fingers are dirty, but it can be easily cleaned 100% with a wet piece of a paper towel. Keyboard buttons are always clean, no matter what.
All ports (3 USB, 1 HDMI, 1 3.5mm audio, 1 LAN, 1 power input) are on the left hand side of the laptop. On the right hand side there is only a Kensington lock port. On the left and right side almost near the corners there are small speakers.
Laptop case is made of plastic, but what do you want for $579? Plastic is harder than in other laptops and looks stylish.
5 GHz wifi hotspot gives me a strong headake as soon as I turn it on, so i don't use it anymore. In old laptops you had to enter a few commands in a command promt to enable wifi hotspot, but in this Windows 10 laptop all is done via 2 clicks of mouse buttons.
There is a Airplane mode available, which if on turns off all the radios (WiFi and Bluetooth).
Specs highlights: FullHD IPS screen, i5-9300h 2.4 GHz that can scale up to 4 GHz during heavy load like video conversion, 512 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM upgradable to 32 GB (4 memory slots!) (i5-9300h processor supports up to 128 GB), entertaining LED backlight for keyboard, numerical pad on a keyboard, Bluetooth (no more usb bluetooth dongles, wasting a usb port!), latest WiFi AC (5 GHz), gigabit LAN, dedicated mid-range videocard made in 2019 with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory (I'm not a gamer, so it's well enough for me), no CD/DVD drive, combined microphone / speakers 3.5mm port, advanced cooling system.
Windows 10 works fast and doesn't distract your attention during drivers setup, installing Windows updates and so on, although it requires you to set up a Microsoft account to track you.
Sometime ago there were many reports that Windows 10 unexpectedly restarted to update itself. Now it doesn't do like that. It offers you to set up a time period, during which it won't be allowed to restart and update itself. In my experience it didn't restart itself until I click "Restart now" at the Windows update page of the Settings window. So no more unexpected restarts during important events :)
NVIDIA added to this laptop its own software, that shows you a list of games, that are compatible with your laptop, so no more headache about game compatibility. This laptop's videocard supports DirectX 12 (not raytracing though).
If you want to read, create and edit Microsoft Office documents, I suggest you to install Libre Office. Its interface is almost the same as of Microsoft Office and you can do almost everything that you were able to do in MS Office, but LibreOffice is free. It's not an advertising, I use it by myself and recommend to others.
If you aren't a hardcore gamer, but need a powerful, but affordable modern laptop with average screen size (15.6"), than this laptop is definitely for you. Worth the money as for me.

Overall is a great laptop, good materials it feels hard enough and the specs are more the enough for most of the games.
The Good Stuff:
Amazing keyboard (not all the Asus RGB keybord functions)
Excellent performance for a lot of games without any frame rate drop
M2-PCI 512gb SSD, this was a great plus and it has also a expansion bay for a SATA hard drive.
Sound, i was expecting to have a bad sound on this laptop since my previous laptop had a great quality and a sub-woofer, but the sound quality was really good and loud for a laptop, it was a good surprise
9th Core i5 was definitely a difference i had the same processor but a 7th gen and I can tell the its a huge difference.
-Battery life is just awesome i reproduced for about 4 hours a movie to my family and after that i still have 30% left
The Bad Stuff:
-Fan Noise, is awful coming for a lifetime of having gaming laptops I can say that this is the worse that i ever had, and you dont need to play games to this to happen if the computer if working hard on anything lets say an installation the fan turns on in a "Turbo" mode, you can turn on "Silent" mode but the performance is really impacted
-Too many options to customize your performance, this will be an issue if you change from 1 mode to another since the computer says that made the change but you see the same frame rate, to fully finish the change you need to reboot once you change the modes
-RGB Keyboard, is awesome and has different colors but you can only change from 1 color to another no color by zones, since this is something that you expect from a RGB keyboard this is not included
As i said is a great gaming laptop the military grade components ensure that will last for at lest 5 years and it has great specs my only BIG complaint is the fan noise is just awful to play right next to an airplane.
