The touchscreen displays in all modes and functions in all modes. When moving from laptop mode to any other mode, including tablet mode, the Chrome browser window expands to full screen. You also are able to use functions on the keyboard for full screen. When in tablet mode, the bottom bar hides and can be retrieved by swiping up from the bottom. Also, when in tablet mode, if you need to enter any text for any reason an on-screen touch keyboard is available and works very well.
