Q: Questionwill Best Buy be offering the Eclipse Grey model? if so, do you know when that would be? I also wanted to ask if Asus is exclusively selling the g14 through Best Buy or can we purchase through other retailers?

• A:Answer I'll be honest buddy in my opinion. Best buy has no clue when or what they're getting from asus. If they do know. They will not release any info. I got a pre order in, says released the 6th. Told me it would be at my house the 15th. Today the 14th it just shipped. Theres no 1 day delivery with ups right now lol. This was for something they knew about and promised so many customers with pre orders. I assume itll be here by the 18th? So for another color or model. I say good luck buddy. Try going straight to asus on that question. I personally dont think best buy is getting anything else from asus. This batch was a marketing ploy by asus to get buzz going around the new g14......

Q: QuestionI will be buying this I just want to know if you're offering any customization options. Can I upgrade the memory, what about the AniMe Matrix optional display?

• A:Answer It comes with 8gb soldered onto the motherboard, while the other 8gb is upgradable. However, with a dual channel ram, I wouldn't bother upgrading the ram unless you absolutely need that extra memory. Let's say you were to upgrade the 8gb slot with a 16gb or a 24gb stick, the soldered 8gb in dual channel means that the extra ram in the upgraded slot will behave like a single channel ram after the initial 8gb is consumed. The AniMe Matrix model is supposed to launch in June I believe. As I said in a different comment, I don't see any point to the display other than it adding more weight to the laptop.

• A:Answer You can upgrade to 40 GB with a 32 GB SODIMM. 8 GB is soldered. Due note, any DIMM larger or smaller than 8 GB could affect dual channel mode as memory is mismatched.

• A:Answer Like I told someone else. Were in the middle of corona virus. Models will be slow to come out. They get a certain # and take pre orders to fill that # coming. I've been watching this g14 since January and hit the pre order button as soon as it opened on april 3rd. This laptop is a hot hot item. Be patient and keep checking asus and best buy. I'm even doubting I'll get one and I put my pre order in early. Corona virus and hottest laptop under 1500$=tough to get

Q: QuestionThese are supposed to support up to 32gb RAM. How is that possible when 8gb is soldered, and there is only one extra slot for user accessible RAM?

• A:Answer So, I had the same question too. However, when you look at the specifications listed for the current model, it clearly says that the memory can be expanded upto 24 gb. So, I imagine, you can replace the 8 gb SODIMM with a 16 gb and combine that with the soldered 8 gb you'd end up with a total of 24 gb. The only way you could expand to a 32 gb system is, if the soldered ram is at 16 gb.
