• A:Answer Our Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kits come with the stylus overhang distance set at 15.5mm, the AT-LP120-USB Turntable calls for a stylus overhang distance of 16mm. We recommend stylus overhang be within 1mm of that specified by the turntable manufacturer, so the AT-VM95EN/H is good to go out of the package with this turntable.

• A:Answer Quite possibly, depending on what the maximum weight of the cartridge + headshell is which the provided counterweight can counterbalance. Hitachi documentation states that the cartridge weight range when using the supplied Hitachi headshell is 4 to 9 grams. They do not state what the weight of the headshell itself is unfortunately. The AT-VM95E/H Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit weighs 15.5 grams total; the cartridge weighs 6.1 grams and the headshell with mounting screws weighs 9.4 grams. Most removable half-inch headshells weigh between 7 and 10 grams which would put the range of the total cartridge + headshell weight at 11 to 19 grams, so I think you will be ok.

• A:Answer It will, but you will need to adjust the stylus overhang distance. The overhang comes set at 15.5mm on the Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kits. Your turntable has an overhang specification of 13mm. You will need to back the cartridge up 2.5mm on the headshell.

• A:Answer The headshell on your turntable is not straight, it is angled. You must us the provided proprietary angled Onkyo headshell with whatever cartridge you choose. Note that the AT-VM95SP Cartridge is for playing 78 rpm SP (standard play) shellac type records, but your turntable does not have a 78-rpm speed. If you intended to select a cartridge that can play 33-1/3 & 45 rpm vinyl records, we recommend the AT-VM95E Cartridge instead.

• A:Answer VM540ML is the model number of a cartridge, not a turntable. Please contact us at [email protected] with the model number of the turntable and please provide the effective tonearm mass if you know it. If you have purchased 6 needles in 2 years something is wrong. Failing needles can be the result of a cartridge compliance/effective tonearm mass mismatch, or the vertical tracking force (VTF) being set incorrectly.

• A:Answer We are assuming you mean the Fluance RT82 Turntable as we have found no information regarding an RT62. It should work, but you may have to adjust the stylus overhang. The stylus overhang is set at 15.5mm on the AT-VM95E/H Combo Kit. We do not see the overhang specification in the Specifications section for the turntables tonearm.

• A:Answer It depends. Which tonearm are you using, the shorter or longer one, and what is the effective mass of the tonearm including the headshell? How much does the headshell weigh? The compliance of the AT-VM95EN Cartridge is 12cu @ 10 Hz and the mass of the cartridge is 6.5 grams including the mounting screws. The AT-HS6 Headshell included with the AT-VM95EN/H Headshell/Cartridge combo kit weighs 9 grams. The cartridge is suitable for use with tonearms whose effective mass is anywhere from 12 to 28 grams.

Q: QuestionI realize the AT-VM95SP/H cartridge won't fit into a P-mount tone arm. However, I have an AT Series V cartridge and need a new stylus. Will this Shibata stylus fit into the Series V? If not, can you suggest a stylus that will fit it?

• A:Answer Google BC92DSH. This is a Shibata P mount cartridge and should work with your P mount tone arm. As far as a stylus replacements, there are several to choose from but not a direct Shibata replacement.

• A:Answer Hi, The stock setup for an SL-B210 is a P-Mount style cartridge which just plugs into the arm. This is designed for a 1/2” type mount. You can use a P-Mount cartridge with an adapter to a 1/2” mount but not a 1/2” mount to a P-Mount arm. So no.
