“i have this cable to go with a LG 4k Oled. I am thinking of buying a 4K BluRay player. Couldn't I switch one end of the cable between the DirecTv receiver and the BluRay whenever I do rent a movie. Instead of buying a 2nd cable. Pretty expensive.”

To me it just makes it easier to turn something on and just watch it now. The toll will come pulling and switching the cables from unit to unit and will only induce wear and tear on the connectors. Also, depending on your setup, there's a distinct danger of knocking over your blu ray item or your tv.

I needed the buy the Best Buy brand 4K HDMI flexible cables because of space where I could not use the "better/best" cables. I have a great 55" 4k/3D Sony TV and TV the picture is awesome. I'm puzzled that for $40.00 you are even thinking about swapping cables? You have an expensive HDTV and a satellite dish? Go and buy the cable for goodness sake.
