Bring excellent picture quality to your home theater system with this AudioQuest Carbon HDMI cable. Solid 5 percent silver conductors offer reduced jitter and distortion, while the high-speed audio return channel and stable critical geometry provide enhanced audio and video signal strength. This AudioQuest Carbon HDMI cable measures 10 feet in length, allowing for flexible options when setting up your electronic components.

Home Theater Buying Guide

  • Supports up to 4K UltraHD (4096 x 2160 pixels) resolution: To help get the best picture from your 4K source.
  • High dynamic range (HDR) pass-through: Significantly increases the range of both color and contrast, which creates an even more vibrant and realistic picture.
  • Solid 5% silver-plated conductors: Eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Provide the benefit of solid silver, reducing distortion and digital timing errors.
  • Directionality: Fabricating metal conductors causes a directional grain structure. By controlling the resulting small impedance variation at radio interference frequencies, the cable can drain noise away from where it will cause distortion.
  • Lifetime limited warranty: Lifetime repair or replacement in cases of defect.
  • Foamed polyethylene insulation: This HDMI cable uses air-filled foamed polyethylene insulation for maximum signal strength.
  • Carbon-based three-layer noise-dissipation system (NDS): Prevents captured RF interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference. Metal and carbon-loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.
  • High-speed data capacity: This AudioQuest HDMI cable exceeds the requirements for all possible HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 data streams, including 4K UHD, HDR, and Blu-ray Ultra HD. Active frequency equalization enables 18 Gbps over long distances.

Q: Does anyone know where the arrows would point on this cable if you are using a sound bar and using the arc ports because arc can travel in both directions so I am not sure if it would make a difference thank u

A: The vast majority of the sound travels from the source to the destination, align the arrow in that manner and don't worry about the reverse. BTW, you won't hurt anything, so its ok to flip it and do a sound check. Example, if you are feeding a soundbar from the TV and using hdmi, align the arrow as sending out of the tv and into the soundbar. If you are going from a DVD to a soundbar via HDMI, align out of the dvd and into the soundbar. It's always "into" the box that is making the "noise".

Q: what with silver-plated

A: Hello, both silver and copper are highly conductive metals, with silver being the more conductive of the two, but also the more expensive of the two. For digital connections, such as HDMI, most of the signal will travel down the outer part of the cable which is the path of least resistance. Starting with a high quality solid copper as the base metal and then using silver plating for the outer part of the conductor (the outer 5% in the case of the Carbon HDMI) allows for the most benefit.

Q: What is different with this cable then the rest, and for $239 what does it do ?

A: If by "the rest" you mean other brands of HDMI cables, Carbon HDMI represents a significant improvement due to the use of superior quality, solid silver-plated conductors and superior quality insulation. No cable can ever improve the signal it's carrying. Cables can only improve performance by doing less damage to the signal. AudioQuest cables do less damage so consequently, picture quality and sound quality are better with AQ.

Q: is this cable hdmi 2.0

A: All high speed cables are 2.0 hdmi. The only difference in cable performance is if it contains silver or uses redmere technology. This explanation is based on the testing of almost 30 different hdmi cables by me. Companies like monoprice advertising a 2.0 hdmi cable is a joke because hdmi 2.0 refers to hardware and not cables. Monster 27 Gbps cable will add nothing because hdmi hardware only goes to 18 Gbps. All high speed cables are cable of 18 Gbps.

Q: If the cable is longer does it make the signal weaker? Some blogs I found say stay under 3 meter or less. My issue is that I have the carbon 3 meter cable but I am short by an extra meter to reach my cable box.

A: There is absolutely no difference in performance between a 1.0 m. Carbon HDMI and a 5.0 m. Carbon HDMI. A longer cable is perfectly OK.

Q: Is this considered a 2.1 HDMI cable

A: NO, this is a HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 cable. The HDMI 2.1 cables do not exist in retail as of yet.

Q: i have this cable to go with a LG 4k Oled. I am thinking of buying a 4K BluRay player. Couldn't I switch one end of the cable between the DirecTv receiver and the BluRay whenever I do rent a movie. Instead of buying a 2nd cable. Pretty expensive.

A: To me it just makes it easier to turn something on and just watch it now. The toll will come pulling and switching the cables from unit to unit and will only induce wear and tear on the connectors. Also, depending on your setup, there's a distinct danger of knocking over your blu ray item or your tv.

Q: Can I use this in HDMI(ARC) ports?

A: Yes, this is a high quality HDMI cable and it supports ARC audio return channel.
