“If the cable is longer does it make the signal weaker? Some blogs I found say stay under 3 meter or less. My issue is that I have the carbon 3 meter cable but I am short by an extra meter to reach my cable box.”

There is absolutely no difference in performance between a 1.0 m. Carbon HDMI and a 5.0 m. Carbon HDMI. A longer cable is perfectly OK.
